Just received my Pop and Lock for the tailgate. Has anyone installed on a 2015? I saw a youtube video for a 2013 and another one for a 2014 and the guy on the '14 said the wires to splice into, in the cab, were different from the '13? Any advice or tips appreciated.

I installed mine right before 4th of July. The wiring is slightly different. I watched the video of the guy explaining that about the 14. Overall it's the same install, just the wires in the passenger kick panel is slightly different. I will check which wires you need to splice into once I get a chance.

The instructions I got with mine were up-to-date and it wired perfectly. Passenger side kick panel. Just make your connections, and before you put everything back to make sure that it is locking and unlocking in the correct order with the key fob. I had heard everything was correct except for what wires were connected to which color. I have basically heard that they had it backwards. But that was not the case with my instructions it worked fine. Good luck good!

Thanks guys, I'm going to try this weekend. Oh, and did you guys route the wire under the truck and into the engine bay? The video didn't really show how he got to the engine bay.

Did mine Labor Day weekend. Routed it under the driver side and into a grommet near the rear passenger door. This takes the wire into the door plate channel on the passenger side. Ran it to the kick panel and wired it up. All done. Works great.

I just did mine yesterday on a '16 DC. I routed the wire along the passenger side into the engine bay to the passenger side kick panel. I wired the green wire to blue/silver stripe. Then blue wire to white/silver stripe. It works fine.

I can't believe I manually locked and unlocked the tailgate for an entire year. Should have done this way sooner. If Toyota made this a standard feature and put it on every Tundra, they could probably do it for under $20 a truck.

I could've thrown it in there in about an hour. But it took me over two hours because I'm very particular and wanted the perfect routing and the install to be very clean.

Definitely under 2 hours. Only problem I had was my wire was short. Someone else said theirs was too. So instead of making the connection between the two wires inside the tailgate, I made the connection under the bed to give it enough slack.

I'm terrible! Took me 3 hrs and I wasn't sipping beers either! Lol

Got it done after work today. Weird thing was I followed the wiring instructions but polarity was backwards: locking doors unlocked tailgate and vice versa. So I just reversed the wiring for the actuator: green to blue and vice versa. Now it's aligned. Glad I did this. No worries about lock/unlock tailgate anymore. Also it's only loud when you are near the tailgate. I can't really tell difference while in the car or not close to tailgate.

Easy install, even I was able to do it. Make sure you learn from my mistake and tighten all screws. I had a screw pop off the handle assembly and the screw and spring dropped into the tailgate. Thank got I was able to slip my hand in and open my access cover or I would have been screwed.

Yup. I mentioned that the wiring was backwards on my write up. Glad you got it working. It's such a convenience having it.

I am about to get the pop & lock, when you unlock it does the tailgate open and drop down ? Or does it just unlock / lock ?

It just unlocks...my doors are set to unlock just the driver's door on first click and all doors plus tailgate on second click. And then it locks the tailgate when all doors lock.

Does any one have a wiring diagram for this mod(automatic tailgate)? There is one in this link but when you enlarge it to be able to read it is too blurry. Any help would be great.
