Just a random fyi. I was going to install the OEM wireless charger but after some researching found thatwthat charging is actually bad for the longevity of your battery since it creates more heat than normal wired charging. Also you shouldn't charge your phone past 80% either. Just some food for thought, obviously if you're someone who replaces their phone before the battery wears out anyway then its something you'd probably care about.

Apple website says it wont charge past 80% if the phone is too hot and in the forums people have asked about quick charging and they said the new phones (I just got the SE2 a month ago) are made to be compatible for quick charge I guess.
I just found a dozen 'tech' websites saying they don't affect battery life, some saying to take the case off for the heat, some saying it does affect it. So one of those deals where you pick what side you want and use those to argue your point. I honestly dont care, I barely charge my phone in my truck but thought it'd be a neat use of space and i'd like to not have that cord flopping around. If it gets that bad a new battery is $70 anyways.
I had my last phone for 4 years with quick charges before Apple updated me out of currency and basically made it so I had to buy a new phone because every update would cause certain features to no longer work (dicks)

That's a nice clean factory look! Is there power near by or a factory harness for it to connect? Also, how much do you have to remove to install it?

Theres a installation PDF on the link, I looked through and doesnt seem bad. Bunch of screws, wiring, and prying things.
Says it’ll come with the harness to plug in and is powered by the rear power thingy on the back of the console for the rear seats. Mine shipped today, can let you know when it gets here

It piggybacks off the 12v socket for the rear seats.

take out some screws and pop off a panel. It’s like a 30 minute job

I just found this exact part (or seems to be exact) on ebay, by searching for the part number from Sparks. And it is only $78 shipped.

    Just an FYI.

Can you use the wireless charger AND be plugged in for carplay? The USB for carplay is low amperage so it doesn't charge very fast while using it. Could you charge up with the wireless charger and also use the plug in for carplay?

I did a search on Amazon when I typed in "Tundra wireless charger"

not all of them had the Toyota part number but were considerably less expensive

I know you get what you pay for

just wondering if anyone has tried the other brands?

I went with the one from Sparks Toyota and couldn't be happier.
Great quality and not a difficult install.

Only advice I have is to use an interior removal tool instead of a flat head or similar.

I do it all the time. It's a little tight with the wire sticking out of the phone but it does charge.

Apple phones have built in software to limit heat and condition battery not to charge to 100% based on heat , conditioning , etc. 100% is not really 100% of your battery capacity. Same principle in Tesla software. That’s why they were able to remotely increase capacity during Hurricanes down south to allow evacuation.
Not from me , all info from an electrical engineer buddy o’ mine.

Running a Speck Presidio 2 case. Pretty thin, and with my lifestyle , extremely durable. I’ve had less damage with that case than I did with the Lifeproof case.
