    Working on it!
For some reason, no one at Toyota dealership could tell me, so I stuck a light meter on the windows. The front side windows on my Pro was 79% and rear windows were 25%. I had Autobahn i3 Ceramic 33% installed on the front and i3 40% installed on the back. Also put Air Ceramic 70% on the windshield.

I just had mine tinted and I had him match the rears. The rear windows measured just a hair over 20%. A reputable tint shop should have a meter on hand to check it for you.

    None. Keeping this one stock.
Same here. Except i3 33 percent. Rear is all 7 percent now and barely legal up front. Love it.

Helpful, timely thread. Considering aftermarket tinting. Do most go with matching front to factory levels in rear? Or darken levels to max allowed by state law?

Also, any tinting materials/techniques to avoid (or select)? Thanks for any pros/cons, guidance!

Ceramic tint is best for cutting heat and glare. Also, it will not fade or discolor like traditional films. I have 5% on mine and 50% on the windshield...pics in my build thread.

I usually just match the rears if there's factory tint in place. I recommend getting the clear film on the windshield as well. Reduces UV/heat without messing up visibility. As mentioned, ceramic tint is preferred. Any quality shop will offer a lifetime warranty on the film and the work, so look for that in your search. Xpel, 3m, and Llumar all make nice products. Others may have additional recommendations.

I’m actually at the tint shop now with my wife’s QX80 and am getting the Tundra done later today.

think I’m gonna do 20% all around. Will judge from the wife’s. Lol. Let her ride be the test dummy.

My rears were right at 20 so I went 20 on the front sides. I didn't get the ceramic but got the next grade down and you can't hardly tell a difference between the two.

My profile picture was pre-tint. The dealer called my back windows as having privacy windows, but couldn't be really specific. He did say that his dealership does not add tint, so I took it to a local shop recommended by the Tundra club. I went with Ceramic tint at 30% on the front two with 15% on the rears & back window. I also did the old school brow at 15%. I considered the front windshield, but I wear script sun glasses and I heard of issues seeing color flares. The shop owner allowed me to sit in his vehicle with the windshield tint and sure enough I saw the color flares while wearing my glasses so I passed.

My 2015 had regular tint at 5% on rears and 15% on the front and it was too dark for me. I had a hard time seeing at night especially in low light areas like country roads. But that is me.

I honestly don't remember. . .I just remember they quoted me a price on the ceramic and I told him I wasn't a fan . . .so he give me a price on the next one down and it's still great tint.

Has this affected your night visibility at all?
Looking to do the same on my windshield.

You can tell that it has a slight tint on it. I will get some day and night pics.

    Good deal!
Wouldn’t mind the heat prevention and a bit of the privacy aspects, but don’t want to have issues seeing out at night.

Windshield tint looks cool but it's dangerous. I had it on one of my vehicles and it was fine during daylight, but unequivocally more difficult to see both at night and in the rain. If you must, do like 70%+. The clear films like Air80 or XPEL PRIME are a much better and safer choice. Heat/UV rejection without reduced visibility.

Mine is 50% clear. It looks tinted from the outside due to the rest of the windows being 5%.

Got 20 on front and 35 on top of the factory in back. Don’t have any good pics yet. Just took this. Can’t roll the windows down for 3 days I was told.

Have you experienced any night vision or rain issues?
Especially, those night rains when the roads are shiny.?.

If you get ceramic tint on the windshield and don't go too dark you will have no negative effects. The glare reduction benefits you get will outweigh the darkening aspect. Mine looks dark in some pictures but it's 46% on the windshield and to me now that I have had it I can't go back.

Honestly, think it helps with most things. I can't say vision is great when it's dark AND raining but I can't see jackschitt in that scenario with or without tint... lol.. I wouldn't go any darker than 70 and Honestly if they would have had 80 in that line, that's what I would have done.

I just got ceramic done on front windows to match rears. It’s 20%. Illegal as hell in the mitten but I’m OK with that. A85EE647-6F5A-43D4-9E77-F38F57DF515B.jpg

I did 35% on front and over the tinting on the rear. Did ceramic, one thing to remember is the rear factory tint is just privacy glass and provides no UV protection. The tint-on-tint took the rears to 7% I believe.

I know this is an old thread but I'm about to do the I3 ceramic on my '21 pro and I was wondering if you have any pictures of your tint as I was thinking about doing the same thing you did with 33 on the front and 40 on the rear but I also am considering 22 on the front but I'm not sure if that will be too dark for me.
