Window cleaning (INSIDE)

As it states...What do you for your windows inside? Anyone use newspaper? What cleaner you use?

 

Adams cleaner and newspaper. Smells better than windex, but have used that too.

 

Is this product safe for aftermarket tint?

 

I've had no issues; but also haven't used for a very long time either.

 

I use the aerosol window cleaner from Walmart. And a MF’n towel of course.

 

you've got issues with towels.

i recently switched from adam's glass cleaner. i know. blasphemy. for whatever reason, it was just streaking too much even when i used newspaper. i'm now using with a microfiber towel. good stuff. no streaks even when used in direct sun.

 

Always the motherf’king towels again

 

That's why I switched to newspaper; MF towels leaving streaks and hated the idea of constantly switching for a dry one. Figured, if the kids at the stoplights in Mexico can clean a window great like that, why can't I?

 

What doesn’t damage tint?

 

This is exactly what I use!!!

 

I use Meguiars G8224 and a microfiber towel. I have used it on tint for years without an issue. It has basically no smell.

 

Great product @Steve. Take a stab at who turned me on to that .

 

I buy this by the 6 pack case....and newspaper.

 

I will stick with grey thanks!

 

The Denver Post is almost unreadable nowadays. I buy the Sunday edition>>>Pull out the Sports section and save the rest for cleaning windows.

Want to try this cleaning method out yourself? Grab your local paper and look for the official Soy Ink Seal to see whether the ink is petroleum-based or soy-based. You can also test by holding the paper between your thumb and index finger for a minute or more. If your fingers are stained, the paper uses petroleum-based ink and is no good for glass cleaning. If your fingers are stain-free, mix equal parts vinegar and water for your cleaning solution then use the newspaper to clean the glass as you would with a paper towel. You can also use old newspapers to ripen tomatoes, deodorize food containers, kill weeds and more, according to Friends of the Earth!

I use this too. (With a MF towel). But I can’t stand the smell.

 

Steve, did you see my truck? I waxed it. For the first time.

 

Same here. Sprayway is best I have used. My tint installer uses it. I have tried Invisible Glass, Glass Plus, vinegar and water, RainEx cleaner. I will use Windex on house but prefer Glass Plus. I think most cleaners that are ammonia free are ok for aftermarket tint.

 

I didn’t buy any fancy wax since it was completely spontaneous. Just went down to Autozone and spent about 5 minutes trying to figure out which wax would be the easiest to apply and wipe off. Decided on NuFinish.

I know, right....Definitely avoid alcohol based cleaners. I think everything else just damages it at a slower rate.
