    Hi all,
Been on this forum many times as a non member and have learned tons. I felt this was the right time to join for I have a question that I can’t seem to answer thru google or perhaps someone on here just knows. I have a 2013 crewmax (My 2nd tundra) that I want a canopy for. How specific are canopies to the make of a truck? Will all 5.5’s fit ?

I’m assuming you’re talking about a cap/camper/shell made by Leer, A.R.E., Snugtop, etc.? We all have different names for them.

Kind of depends on your definition of “fit”. For instance, a cap from a 2014+ Tundra doesn’t really fit second gens as the tailgate is about an inch longer (if I’m not mistaken). People have made them work, but as far as I know, the only thing that fits perfectly is a 2007-2013 specific cap. There may one for another make (Ford, Ram, etc.) that is pretty close, but I couldn’t tell you.

Like Rob said, the tailgate lip changed in 14. My ARE from my 10 wouldn’t fit on my 18. Any 07-13 should fit your truck.

They aren’t that specific. I’ve seen some good prices on used ones. 07-13 is a pretty big range. If you aren’t in a hurry you can probably find a good deal. A new one can easily be over $2000.
