Hello everyone, can any experts on here tell me if a 2006 tundra rear diff limited slip fit on a 2002 sequoia 4wd?

    Much appreciated

Do you mean just the diff/ring/pinion with the 3rd member, or the entire axle assembly?

I have a 2002 sequoia. The mechanic just told me the rear diff is bad when I took it ot get the fluid changed. And the axle seal is leaking as wel . So he just told me it's cheaper just to replace the entire assembly

Dont you have coils? Replacing the axle seals on your axle will be a heck of a lot cheaper than welding all the pieces you need onto the tundra axle. Swap the 3rd member into yours and replace the seals

The 3rd member will fit into your axle housing but the tundra axle housing will not swap in to the Sequoia without lots of fabrication.

Plus your Sequoia has rear disc brakes and the Tundra has rear drum brakes. You don't want to down grade your brakes like that.

    This.

And also I want to do this exact swap in reverse. When I regear I want to use a Sequoia axle, cut off the old brackets, and swap it in my tundra. Discs baby!

I wish we were neighbors. I saw a 2003 Tundra with this and it looked awesome. Wish I could have spoken with the owner about it all.

Why not just swap the entire axle shaft/ brake assemblies? Seems easier than swapping the axle housing.

If the backing plates bolt up the same. The issue really is that I need a complete axle minus the third member more or less anyway and if I have a spare third I can regear without taking my truck down. If the axles are the same then I have spares of those which is nice. Price wise I bet it's the same at a u-pull yard to get a complete axle compared to everything from the axle seal out.

I wouldn't complain if we were neighbors because it's getting pretty chilly here haha.

Guys I've been thinking about the Sequoia rear end in my Tundra also. I know about all the bracket but was wondering if I needed to change out the master cylinder propositioning valve etc... what else would need to be changed. TIA.

It's probably suggested you change at least the proportioning valve. I was thinking of just ditching the load sensing deal for the rear brakes if I do it and seeing how it feels. I guess it depends how close in size the Sequoia master cylinder is compared to the tundra on whether it will work.
I was being told my ranger would need a new proportioning valve when I did the rear disc swap on it. That little truck with 4 wheel disc and 35" tires stops amazingly well with the factory prop valve. I also like a little rear brake bias anyway to allow for braking and steering though so I'm a unique case.

I would be surprised if the axles/ backing plates didn't work. But yeah, having the spare 3rd and housing would be good.

On my Tacoma I cut the rod off and zip tied it up to the lines connected to the LSPV. What this does is essentially tells the prop valve that my rear is weighed down and sends more bias to the back. Great way to get more braking power from the rear without having to change anything. I did recently have to adjust it down because the rear brakes locked up during a hard stop. But my Tacoma is on 40's and stops really well for what it is. I would recommend that before going and changing anything.

Hello, does anyone know where I can pick up a pair of rear brake plate for 2002 sequoia 4wd for a reasonable price? I saw one from toyota. They wanted 700 for 2 pieces of metal. Hardly seem worth the price. Thanks in advance
