My poor wife...backed out of the garage and noticed the left mirror was going to hit the edge of the garage so stopped, switched it into Drive (she thought) then when she moved it was back in Reverse and, thankfully, the mirror swivels but it did knock off a black plastic piece but I was able to pop it back into place.

But the green paint on the end of her mirror is now scratched but not real deep....it's a 2-inches by 3 scrap.

Any suggestions for how I can make it look new again for her? (If Momma's happy, then everyone is happy!)

From the pics it just looks like transfer, I'd try some compound or clay bar and then see what it looks like.

I understand it's painted, what I meant was it just looks like material from the garage door transfered to the surface of the mirror. From these images the paint looks to basically be ok, it just has some garage door trim material stuck on it.

Oh I gotcha! We have a metal guide on the edge of the garage (formed sheet metal) that the door slides up/down on...that's what she scrapped. Hopefully I can get most (or all) of it off tomorrow....I'll let ya'll know...you all rock, I really appreciate the tips to try.

Your queens Prius has mirror covers. Might wanna check with @Roman to see if they have color matched ones for a quick, easy swap.

I hate when things like that happen. Garages in CO are so small.

Yep you are right. The clay bar only fixed a small portion...bummer5888E234-F6D0-48AC-8470-B985F946318F.jpg

Rule of thumb.....if you drag your thumbnail across the scratch and your nail stops and doesn't slide over the damage, it needs primer and paint :D

TRD Air Filters, Front door windows tinted to match the rears. Wheel locks, Talons Garage cat shield, Tyger Automotive soft tonneau cover, WeatherTech floor mats with Tuff Skinz Custom Emblem kit, Toyota OEM Emblem Black Out kit. AVS vent covers on all four doors, Red Tundra letters on front bumper & TRD highlighted in Red on front grille. Tailgate Tundra Letters in Black.
I’d take it to a local body shop. See if they can remove it, they have the things to either remove and if it’s a paint issue than you can get an estimate to repaint.

    :)

Yep, there's a shop near work...I'll run down this week and ask for an estimate. (Hopefully it's not totaled....it IS a Prius!) ;-)
