Like people are complaining bout cars that have good engine and good trans just because it isn't updated doesn't mean its not good. People complaining bout the 5.7 in the tundra and other cars because its a good and tried and true engines/parts. Its not like its bad but still why do people like to complain so much? Its not easy to make new parts even years apart that are as reliable.

I like the tundra because it doesn't have decylinder activation, or turbos in a v6...as far as I am concerned Toyota shouldn't change a thing. Probably not a popular opinion, but that is my $.02

Since paying off debt and obtaining a 799 credit score, it put truck parts on hold and taught me patience and made me very happy with what I have, now I don’t want as much even though I can spend money on things now. I love my truck and I might just put bigger tires and that’s it, I love off-roading but the tundra is too big and I’m planning on buying a used 200 series landscruiser as a serious off-roader(I know that one is big too). But I have nothing bad to say about my truck, I love the 5.7 V8, I love my limited trim, I’ll take my 15.6 MPG’s which will degrade with bigger tires but I’ll still be happy. Paying off the tundra soon to make way for my landcruiser, then when my son gets old enough he’ll have my tundra. Life is good, my only complaint is that I have 5 more years in the Army to make retirement and I wish it was sooner, I want to explore America on wheels with my family full time.

I don't think its so much the fact that its a bad truck or platform I think the complaints come from the fact that people feel like Toyota really doesn't care about them because they have let the truck wither on the vine sort of speak. Were pretty much driving an 07' truck paying 2019 prices. Only complaint I have with the 5.7 is the cam tower leak I experienced which Toyota has not fixed this long into the trucks evolution. I love the fact the 5.7 has no AFM or small v6 and turbos...those all give false mpg hopes. When you use them as a truck they are right there with the Tundra's mpg.

if it ain't broke don't fix it...right? funny, when i decided to sell my 2010 DC i started researching trucks, Tundra was near bottom of the list. Ram happened to be at the top followed by GMC...good luck buying a completely overhauled truck (Ram) and i have a customer that bought a fleet of GMC's last year, steady in the shop. My 2010 had 180K when i sold it and i changed the oil and brakes...promptly purchased another Tundra.

I'm ok with people complaining, but it's when they always complain and never offer up a solution.
Like try something folks, to see if you can change the outcome or offer a way that others can improve at least.
At least an effort - may not always work, but offer up something more than just a complaint. That's too easy to do.

That'd be nice. My 5.7 hasn't been trouble free for 40,000 miles. I got a stretch there for about 35,000 where I didn't have an issue with it. :stirthepot:

I might just do that, actually. Going to wait and see what this 7.3 gaszilla from Ford does in the first year or two. Then, it might be goodbye to the Tundra.

I agree with the OP about complaining about it being "old" - that is goofy. Complain if it has problems.

I can’t handle the Mary Poppins bullshit. What you may view as complaining others may view as a an honest experience. That’s what I want.
I’ll bet you anything you complain. Like, “that gas station is 30 cents higher. I not going there”. I could view that as bitching or I could view it as an honest comment.
I’m telling you right now if everything you heard was “positive” you would be buying dogshit and finding out for yourself.
