None yet. But ordering has started!
Want to add a Backrack and need to figure out who manufactures the hard tri-fold cover. Cant seem to locate in order to order mounting hardware. Any help appreciated!
Want to keep the cover so removing to add rack is not an option.

I called the dealership to find out too, but they had no idea. I’m trying to fit a under tonneau cargo rail storage container and need to tell them manufacturer who make the cover to see it will fit.

From my understanding there is no OEM tonneau for tundras. My Tacoma had one that was OEM and Tacoma branded but that wasn’t an option for my tundra. They were aftermarket and mine came with a solid fold extang 2.0. Dealer mark up for a non OEM cover I am not crazy about = waste of money and lesson learned next time.

Not too sure about that. I think there may have been a short time where that was true but as of Jan/Feb this year the OEM option is back. I ordered my truck from the factory with one.

I’d read here it was made by Extang and that very well may be true, but there are differences between what I have and what Extang sells direct.

The original OEM tonneau cover supplier went bankrupt and for a little bit they were searching for another manufacture. They did end up finding one but no one knows who makes them right now for some reason or which one they came from.

Dealer installed a Rugged Cover 2 tri fold when I purchased the truck. After seeing some pics it appears that Toyota just removed the Rugged Cover 2 label and stuck on a Toyota label.

I'm curious too. I have the OEM tri-fold Toyota tonneau. It has some features like the tiny wire you pull to release it and that fact that there is a lot of play with the tabs that clip in when its closed.

They suggested I buy an aftermarket tonneau when I bought mine a month ago.. Went with the MX4 Backflip for about $300 cheaper than OEM and glad I did.

I ordered one of these. It came out to 350ish with a discount code and looks identical to my buddies "toyota", Extang, Lund, Etc. Only difference I could tell was my mounting hardware was not exactly the same, and the seals are a little thicker. I think the answer is "China" makes them, and sells them to OEM or other tonneau sellers for re-branding.

You can probably get replacement hardware for any of the similar covers and have it work.

but for $300 more mine is covered under my 8year/125k warranty if something happens. plus I rolled it into the loan instead of forking the cash over.

I guess I'd rather pay cash, then to pay interest on a cover for 5 years...

Covers are port installed options so it depends on where you purchased . In the southeast it’s Rugged

I would too. But at 0.9% interest it wouldn’t be too bad and I can keep a G in the bank instead. Who’s got a calculator? What’s the interest on $1000 for 4 years(paying off early) at 0.9%?

I just want a tri-fold cover that is waterproof. Anyone had luck with finding one that doesn't leak?

All covers seem to let a little water in, installation/alignment seems to be the variable.

I currently have a Diamondback and had a Bakflip on my previous vehicle.

Dealer purchased Rugged Cover 2 here. It is not water tight. It will let water in if it's sitting in the rain, but not while driving.
