I like the idea of the hybrid version. But that will be in the mid $50K range here in Canada, guaranteed. I'm not spending $50K on a truck. So I'll probably be looking at used in the next year or two, and I really want a Platinum so that puts me at nothing newer than 2017 to stay in the sub-$40K range.

I am I have 2008 and I found no reason to ever buy the 3rd gen since nothing was major change I had test driven the 2014 and I still liked my 2008 response better so I kept it and have been waiting for 4th gen to see what Toyota brings us

CPO trucks are usually a good alternative, but you sometimes have to hold the dealer's feet to the fire to get ALL of the TSB's performed.

I don't trust spammy URL's like that for information. They sometimes get things right, but they're mainly made as clickbait for ad revenue. That being said, I'll be waiting to see what 2021 has to offer. I like that my 2017 doesn't have the TSS-P system.

That's another big one for me. I don't care for the TSS system. If I can find a low mileage 2017 Platinum, I'd buy that over an equal 2018 or 2019 all day long

Well, my 2017 Platinum should be paid off by October 2020, a Harrop supercharger is a lot cheaper than a $60k new truck...

Not saying you're spamming, the URL itself is spammy (https://2019besttrucks.com/, https://2020besttrucks.com/, https://www.2019truck.com/, https://www.2020truck.com/, etc). They generally contain the same general info (often it's wrong), the same photos, etc. It's usually all stolen from other legit resources.

For example, that article is saying twin turbo, but the pics are stolen from an Autoblog.com post about a hybrid version.
    https://www.autoblog.com/photos/2021-toyota-tundra-hybrid-spied/

In other words, URL's like that are junk.

There are plenty of other legit automotive websites besides Toyota. But the types of URL's like the one you posted aren't it for the reasons I stated and showed.

Yea, any article that has a year, truck name etc as the URL is garbage.

Also, while most are saying 2021 I wouldn’t be surprised if it was 2022.

I hear what you are saying, but it's really not legit until Toyota makes it legit. Everything else is pure speculation at this point.

I would be interested in the hybrid model a few years down the road. You could save thousands in a year on fuel. Hoping that toyota reliability would still be there.

A coil-spring or air-spring rear suspension that replaces the leaf springs would be sweet, and the ability to somehow retrofit that suspension to older trucks would be awesome.

I buy Toyotas with indefinite ownership in mind. I owned my last Tundra (2006) for 12 years and 225,000 miles and had no plans to sell it. Then my wife got a 2017 Sequoia with that wonderful 5.7L and that did it. I sold the 2006 (to my daughter) and bought the new 2018 and plan to keep it basically forever. It is paid off, so no payment worries.

I'll sit in the stands and munch peanuts (and beer) when the new Tundras roll out. Then I'll go take a nap.

Betsy has been paid off. My next vehicle payment will be when I trade in the Lexus for a Tesla. Betsy stays.

What is this TSS system you speak of? Would my 2013 have it and what does it do?

I tend to keep my trucks for about 10 years. I have a 2016 right now so I will give them a couple of years to get all of the bugs out of the hopefully new engine and trans that they are coming out with. Got a couple more years to pay off my truck then I'll start putting the payment away every month to use as a down payment when I buy the next one.
