Who installs Stereo systems or has done there own?

Was wondering who has done there own stereo full systems or does systems on the side? If so how do you guys tune it? Do you use any oscilloscope or multimeters?

 

I’ve only used a multimeter to measure voltage while playing a sine wave. Do this with no speakers connected.

 

Don't mention oscilloscopes or @Black Wolf will totally take this thread off on a tangent.

So I just tuned mine yesterday with the multimeter and man that was a night and day difference compared to just by ear.

 

Mine sounds pretty damn good? But always room for improvement!! I’ve Never heard of tuning with a multimeter! How to please!

 

What did you "tune"? Just the gain voltage?

 

Yes. With multimeter just the gain after that just set the other filters and LPF to your liking

Lots of info about tuning on diymobleaudio forum. Though I ve yet to do it, it s apparent that there s more to tuning than setting gains, (at least on a system with a dsp which is my case). I was reading about a program named REW that many use to do fine tuning. Give this a look see.
