And don't you go anywhere, Matt. If you leave, @NewImprovedRon and I won't have any old Gyrenes to harrass.

Nissan no longer offers a roof rack system for the 3rd gen Frontier. Not even on the Pro4x! I just contacted Rhino Rack. Their main office/engineering group is only a couple minutes away from my home. I've met a couple of their folks before at a Toytec Customer Appreciation Day. I explained that there are few options if any out there when it comes to roof racks for the 3rd gen Frontier. Once they found out how close I live to them they are considering using my Frontier to come up with a solution. Their office is actually down the street from the lab where I work. Walking distance. I should hear back shortly if my Frontier will be their Guinea Pig.

FYI......Dakota Hill and most of Kingston Peak trail still open. Some snow in shaded areas but not deep at all.

Frontiers are good trucks, the new ones look great. I was on club frontier and I know what you mean about being a somewhat slow forum. I had Ironman4x4 suspension on mine and slowed down for almost nothing :D

Club Frontier has picked up a bit now that the 3rd gen is out. That forum has been around a long time. I think it's heyday is in the rear view mirror , but lots of info there. The new 3rd gen sub forums are giving it new life. The other Frontier forums are pretty much dead mainly due to format. Club Frontier's format is fairly close to Tundras.com which is a plus.

Hell, don't worry about talking up your '22 Frontier...at least it exists, unlike '22 Tundras(still virtual)...no one has one in their driveway in all 50 states. Lot's of people discussing the Tundra Forum here are all "I'm buying a Generic Motors/Dodgey/F-Something cuz the Tundra won't pull my 38-foot travel trailer." I thought the 2000 Frontier Crewcab was revolutionary, but couldn't exactly afford one when I first saw one in 1999. I wound up buying new '02 Tundra with a 3.4L V-6 which had the same tow rating as the Frontier - 5,000 lbs.

22 CC SV 4X4 with it's 3.8L has a payload of 1290 and towing rated at 6570. Not bad at all!

What was it about the Tacoma you didn't like. Just curious. Thanks.

The new motor and transmission issues of the latest gen. Interior was kind of blah. Taco 278hp/265 ftlbs vs the Frontier 310hp/281 ftlbs. Fully boxed improved frame carried over from the last gen Frontier is a big plus too. A much stouter truck compared to the Taco imho. I never even considered the new gen Taco.

I want to add that the Nissan Zero Gravity bucket seats are the bomb! So comfortable. All Frontiers get them now with the 22.

That is awesome! I have always liked the Frontier and the new one looks to be great also. I thought the previous gen was better than the current taco. The only problem I see with yours is.........it's white!! You bought the slowest Frontier Nissan makes!

    That unfortunate decision
aside:D, I hope you continue posting updates and trip reports here. Congrats on the new truck brother. Great choice!

Thanks. I appreciate that! I really liked my 09 Taco. Quite frankly I missed it. Was so much fun to 4 wheel with. That's why I decided to downsize. Wasn't easy because the Tundra is so great. I'm really enjoying this little beast truck.

My SV has the deluxe cloth Z Gravity seats. Well made. Serious stitching going on. Thick cloth. Supposedly the leather versions are quite comfy too.

Wouldn't be easy for me either, I have had five tacos. All versions before the Camry motored version which is horrible. Still wish they made the first gen. Bombproof truck. Anyway your Frontier is gonna last you a long time. It's built well. Much like a first gen taco but a little bigger. I do miss a smaller truck at times

Yeah, it's all about needs and what's the best fit. That Atkinson motor was a very bad down grade. A shame.

Sharp truck man. I saw a green one a few weeks ago. Couldn’t believe how good it looks. I would absolutely take it over the Taco

Thanks Derrick! I've still only seen one other 22 on the road so far. Dealers here in Colorado are finally getting some decent inventory. Instead of one Pro4x and a couple SV's, they are getting 2 or 3 Pro4x's and 6+ S's and SV's in Crew Cab and King Cab's with the six ft beds.

Literally just got of the phone with Hefty Fabworks in Colorado Springs. 2022 sliders in stock now. No lead time. Full skids should be posted shortly. I want full skids first. Pricing will be emailed to me tomorrow. 5 skids in all. Will bite that bullet first.

Nice, but my SV came with 17's. I do like the 22 Pro4X rims and the Nismo 17's are available now.

Yep. Got a great trade in offer that I couldn't refuse from the same dealer that I bought my Taco and both Tundra's from. Got $2500 more than what I paid for my 14 two years ago with over 120K miles on it. Quite pleased!

I filed my taxes last week thru H&R. My credit union already shows the refund to be posted to my account this Friday!!!. Hefty Fabworks will get some of it. Paying off my piece of Colorado paradise too with more $ to spare!
