Dyno from their product page. 91 octane used. Wonder what pulley size they use.

I'm curious what tuning they're using. 488 to the wheels on 91 octane, that's nuts

Wouldn’t surprise me if it was HP Tuners. The Whipple is measured at the wheels I think too.

Still I think I have a preference for the Harrop. Less shouty. If Whipple used the Gen 5 then it would be different. But I believe the TVS2650 is the more efficient of the two.

Another observation is the Harrop is probably less prone to belt slip if you go with a smaller pulley due to the additional idler pulley they add on.

Can someone explain this graph? Why does the power spike on the red line? Is dude not at WOT for the run or is it actually making no power until you hit 4000rpm and then it all comes on over a 400rpm range?

So basically they had the truck on a dyno, trans locked in whatever gear is 1:1 ration (don't know which gear that is on the tundras, I'm gonna assume 3rd because it says that on the graph. They had it running part throttle at what looks like 3900 RPMs and then they floored it. As the RPMs rise, so does the power. Since its a roots style blower, you get instant torque until it runs out of air, fuel or RPM whichever comes first.

Follow up question then, what is the point of running on the dyno without load at 3900rpms and then flooring it? I hardly care how much power it's making over 4 grand compared to the power under 3500. They just wanted to show peak power instead of the whole curve? Seems kind of pointless imo

Good lord man almost $8k for under 500hp, I had my old 12 valve Cummins at 600ish for less than half of that.

They're just doing a wide open throttle pull to show peak numbers off. They start it where they believe the beginning of the power band is and run it out.

There are very few, if not 0, dynos that can measure at the engine speed you’re wanting. If you’re adding this big of a supercharger to anything I highly doubt you’re just wanting to see what it makes sub-2k.

I know dynos have a hard time at low rpm, but I still don't see much point to only look for high rpm performance. I don't "just" want to see lower rpm performance, same how I don't "just" want to see high rpm performance. But if all you care about is power at 5k then power to you.

I think you may be missing the point. All that is showing is just peak performance at WOT. They're doing it as a "look at how much HP you can make" type of advertisement.

I can assure you that the off idle torque with a roots blower will change your life compared to what the truck does stock.

Going from 318WHP - 488 WHP doesn't seem too bad. That approx. equals about 579 BHP which is more than the TRD/Magnuson.

The very last bullet point says:
CA EO: Pending due to corona.
That mean they will have a carb number for this? That would be a big deal. Shit, they are located in Fresno Ca, a couple hours south of Sac.

    What does California complaint mean?
Does that mean everyone in my neighborhood has to chip in for it and I can only drive after midnight on the 3rd Tuesday of the month? ;):D
