2016 TSS Off Road Tundra SR5 Crew Cab
Hey guys, I have a 2016 TSS OFF ROAD SR5 Crew Cab Tundra. I bought it last year and had brand new Bc Goodrich K/O 2 on it. In size 285/55/R20. It has come time to get a new set of tires as these are worn down and well driven. I did not like this tire very much, in the mud and snow it caked up. I really everything I’ve seen about the Cooper STT Pro but they do not make the tire in a 285/55/R20- they do however do 275/65/ R20, 295/65/R20, 295/60/R20, and 295/55/R20. I am pretty lost on the whole tire thing, have talked to various shops with no help. Figured I would ask on a forum. So basically, how big can I push the tire without doing any work to my truck? What tire do you recommend? Is anyone using the STT Pro on a Gen 3 tundra with no mods? Let me know and thanks so much for the help.

I run both Cooper ST Maxx and STT Pro M/Ts at 295/70/18. Minor relocation of front fender liner. The ST Maxx are a great all around tire. Great on wet surfaces, decent in snowy/icy conditions, darn good off road. The STT Pro M/Ts are the best off road tire I've purchased over the last 45 years. Great off road tire in all conditions. A bit noisy on the highway and so so on ice.. Crazy good in snow though. Both tires have ArmorTek3 sidewalls. The only other tire I would consider is the Cooper AT3 series that has been around quite awhile and copy catted a lot. There are three new versions of the Cooper AT3. Check them out. Lots of sizes to choose from.

How much do you off road and what conditions? If not a lot but heavy mud I would go for the ST MAXX. This will be my next tire in a 275/65/20. Not sure about clearance on the front without a levelling kit. If you do a lot of off road then get the STT. Not much at all then the AT3. It is not very aggressive.

The new Cooper AT3 line up includes the LXT version with side biters. Looks to be a decent traction tire. [IMG]

I think the St Maxx is an excellent tire in every single condition. Aggressive looking like the Pro, but rides on the road better.

I'm thinking a 275/65/20 should be good to go with stock setup with rubbing. I'm basing this on stock rims. Don't quote me though! I think a few here are running with 275/65/20 on stockers???
