So for a spray in Liner, seems LineX is the way to go? I'm getting ready to call a local LineX dealer to make an appointment but I'm not sure which version to go with (Standard, Premium, Pro, etc.).

My truck isn't used for anything extreme. Probably the harshest thing I do with it is shoveling out a load of dirt or mulch.

I was considering at least getting the premium for the extra UV resistance as my truck is parked outside all day but I just ordered a Bakflip Mx4 so the bed will be covered most of the time. I'm not worried about color matching, black is just fine.

So I'm thinking the standard will be fine for me? What should I expect to pay these days (I have the 6.6" bed and will have them keep it under the bed rails)?

    Thanks

I didn't do Line-X, ended up doing Bullet Liner, which is a company started from a guy who branched off from Line-X. Only reason I went with it vs Line-X is cost was lower and it appeared thicker and included the UV protectant. I paid $599, I was quoted Line-X from two different places for the premium version at about $650 and the other was around $730. I live in CA so cost will vary depending on where you live.

I just called the local LineX shop. $479 + tax for the Standard LineX coating. +$150 for the Premium (UV resistant) version.

I've looked at (online) and considered the Bullet Liner before. There is a shop about 45 minutes away who does it and I called them too and it is a little less expensive ($450 + tax but that includes UV protection)

I'm hesitant to go with any new or lesser known alternative. I did that with my last truck. That was back in like 2001 and I forget what that product was even called? Whatever it was, it had a "lifetime warranty" which ended up being worthless because the company went out of business before my liner started to having issues. Even if Bullet Liner doesn't go out of business, there is only one shop anywhere around here who does it so what happens if I have issue and they are no longer in business?

The only reason I'm even considering it is, my last truck liner was a soft, grippy material like Rhino liner and I liked the fact that I could put stuff in the back and it wouldn't slide around. That's the one thing I do not like about LineX but on the other hand, I do wonder if that's why LineX seems to hold up better then it's softer competitors?

Sounds like you should go with Line-X, and I would get the premium. I also have only one Bullet Liner dealer in my area, and I'm not too worried about needing any warranty work as its a high end product like Line-X. For piece of mind spend the extra money and get Line-X premium. Reality is it all comes down to the prep. Bullet Liner spent 5 hours prepping my car and my bed looked new when I brought it in. They also removed the bed bolts and sprayed in between the the tailgate and bed and the vertical rails where the tailgate meets the bed.IMG_0114 11.02.34 PM.jpgIMG_0115 11.02.37 PM.jpg

I have had Line-X in several of my trucks/trail rigs. It is a great product. If you care about it looking "shiny" for longer than about 6 months - don't get the standard. In general, I do standard for stuff that isn't easy to see - like inside the bed. But, for applications where it is easy to see, do the UV upgrade.

I got linex premium in my 6 1/2 foot bed for $600 even. Bring cash. Then I bought an $80 rubber Toyota bed mat to keep things in place.

I really like the bullet liner. I had my bed and side steps sprayed.

I like that they wrapped it around the edges. Nice touch.
