I recently purchased a 2005 tundra double cab 4x4. Mileage 250k. Where should I start with getting this truck ready to drive across the country. General maintenance.? Especially with the 4 wheel drive.

Any idea about the timing belt?

    I like a good baseline.

    Engine oil & filter replacement.
    Coolant replacement.
    Engine air filter replacement.
Cabin air filter replacement (if it has one).
    Spark plug replacement.
    Wiper blades replacement.
    Front brake pad inspection.
Tire life and wear pattern inspection.

As mentioned: timing belt replacement (tensioner???). EDIT: I see where you say it was done at 150,000 miles. You should be good.

Wheel lug nut torques. Make sure they not air gunned on to 140lbs. So jack up all 4 corners, looses lugs and retorque. I like 76 lb-ft.
Check what the on board jack and lug nut arrangement is. Where is it located? Get it out and do a trial run in your driveway. Do you need a couple 2X6's in the bed to get the jack up higher off the ground to be effective?

After all this you can decide if you want to go deeper:
    Front differential oil change.
    Transfer case oil change.
    Rear differential oil change.
    Brake fluid change.
    Power steering fluid change.

    And then the biggie:
    Transmission fluid/oil DRAIN & FILL.

250,000 miles is nothing at all to be worried about.

I take an OBDII reader on any long trip...
If something happens and it throws a code, at least you will know if it is urgent or if it can wait until you get home.

    Welcome!

100K on the timing belt already? I would change it.
