I'm about to order Coachbuilder +1 shackles for my '19 Tundra. I don't have the place, tools, or experience to install them myself. Does anyone have a good recommendation for a place in the Denver area I can take my Tundra to have the shackles installed? Any guesses what it might cost to have it done?

    Thanks

@COMiamiFan or @Grumpy Uncle might know of some reputable shops.

I just got my whole kit too. Where abouts in Denver are ya? Maybe we could have an install party with a few cold beers. Save you a few bucks…I’ve got plenty of tools and air. Coachbuilder says ball joint press, I say, been there done that…air hammer! :D

You can do it with a basic gear puller and an appropriate OD socket or block that will clear the inside of the hole.

Install is tough but doable. With the ball joint press from autozone and some extra fat impact sockets sized to the sleeve it all came out. I used an electric impact to press out the OE stuff

Yeah, you can do it yourself, but be prepared to have trouble getting the bushings out. When I did mine, I had to cut one out. Here is my install thread:

Reading through your thread is further proof I need to take my truck somewhere to have it done by people that do this stuff for a living and not by me.

I appreciate everyone's comments about trying this out myself but I'm still hoping for some good shop recommendations. Thanks.

That's a kind offer. I'll give it some thought. Thanks.

I’m a fan of Tru Automotive. They are about 2-3 weeks out right now. They are off Santa Fe and Mississippi

Let me know what you pay or get quoted. I threw mine in yesterday during the Broncos game. Started at 2 and was cleaning up by 4. Only special tools used were a puller to push the bushing sleeves out and an air hammer to drive the steel sleeves out.

Update. I was out of Colorado the last three months and of course my shackles were delivered two days after I left town.

Anyway, I installed my Coachbuilder shackles today. I did it at the DIY Auto Repair Shops. It took two hours. I payed for one hour of "assisted repair" and 1 hour of "you fix it". About $140 total. They had all of the tools and the lift. The guy that assisted me worked the lift, gave me some pointers, and did most of the work getting the bushings out of the leaf springs.

If anyone needs a place to work on their car/truck but needs some tools, a lift, or a little help, I highly recommend this place. I don't know what I would have paid at a regular shop to have them install the shackles but I suspect it would have been a lot more than the $140 I paid and I wouldn't have learned a lot in the process.

RSG or Toytec (idk if Toytec normally does installs though). RSG is an offroad shop that does a lot of Toyota stuff. They have the SAS 5th gen on 40s with a 5.7 swap.

Yes. Only the spare needs to be removed.
