    As a youngster I toured the Toyota factory in Japan twice (late 1950s, early 1960s). Even as a fifth/sixth grader it was really impressive to see the sophistication of the assembly line. One of my fondest memories was our class was brought into a large conference room where a small team of executives warmly welcomed us and gave us gifts (a small gold covered Toyo-Pet that was velvet lined to be used for a cuff-link or jewelrybox). I have since lost that treasure (dang!) but have great memories of both tours.
