Whirlpool, get that biggest ones that will fit. I bought mine from Costco because they extend the warranty on appliances to 4 years if you use their credit card

Whirlpool has been great for us. Going on ten years. Only problem I had was when my mother in law stuffed a bunch of new towels in the dryer with a dirty lint screen and blew the thermal fuse. Easy fix.

Recently got an LG High capacity topload washer, seems to do really good, will be getting the matching dryer soon. Our washer loads are now bigger than the older dryer can handle.
Get the higher capacity models for sure, wouldn't worry about all the bells and whistles. Also get a washer that has the higher spin rates, will reduce drying time.

Maytag was having a bad run, may want to avoid. Bought by whirlpool a while back, not the same company anymore.

If gas is available in your house, seriously consider going with gas, lots of electric bill savings to be had.

Roper dryer 12 years old bought used not a single problem.

If I need another I will buy used again. I'm not buying anything with computer circuit boards.

Family was always big on Maytag. About 10-12 years ago bought a new set. The washer's main seal went out about 3.5 years later. 6 months out of warranty. repair was 2/3 price of new. cut losses at the time. Actually still have the dryer. Bad experience for me, was hearing common at the time. Maybe they are better now.

On our second set. We had the front loader for about 6 years. It started to smell like mildew. We found out later that this was an issue with the older models.
Set 2 is a top loader. We really like it. Big, deep and they no longer have that agitator in the middle. And very quiet.
Hers a picture, the dryer matches.

We have an LG washer/dryer pair (top load washer) that we got from Costco and love them! Costco had better pricing and comes with an extra year of the manufacturer's warranty, plus an extra two years if you use the Costco credit card.

Anyway, the washer is much quieter than our old front loader. Our laundry room is on the top floor of our house and the old front loader would practically shake the whole house, but we barely notice the new LG. Haven't had any issues in the 1.5 years we've had them.

We were doing two+ loads a day. Two adults and two teens. We were going through a washer about every 14 to 18 months. They were just out of warranty. Bastards.
On a recommendation by a couple of friends that didn't know each other, they both said Speed Queen.
After researching the company, brand, and that their consumer washers last 20 years and that most any and every laundromat uses Speed Queen commercial products, we were sold.

You won't be impressed by the lack of features. You won't be impressed by the lack of the fashionable and trendy look. You'll be appalled that they aren't fancy schmancy. You won't like it that the big box stores such as Home Depot, Lowes, and Best Buy don't sell them. I mean, who wants two plain white boxes that only washes and drys clothes?
Do they cost the same as a fancy ass Samsung set? Yep, probably a bit more. We paid $1800 for the Speed Queen set.
Will the Samsung set last 20 years? Nope.

The Speed Queen set that we bought has a 5 year standard warranty. Try to get a five year warranty out of one of those fancy brands. You won't.

We walked into a small appliance store in Ft Worth (Oliver Dyer's Appliance) and told them that we wanted a washer and dryer that lasts. The salesman that had sold appliances for 30+ years walked us right over to a Speed Queen set.
While we were purchasing, I asked the gentleman why they had that single set of Samsungs. He said, "That's what people want. They want a show piece. Not something that does what it says."
    https://www.speedqueen.com/

Don't get a front loader of any brand. You'll learn if you do.

You bought a Tundra because of its reliability. Buy a washer and dryer for that same reason as well.

    We have Whirlpool front loaders.

These were purchased in early 12’ during the remodel on our old home.

These have gone through two kids daily laundry and at times, 3-4 loads daily. I’m not sure how we produce this much laundry...seriously.

Overall, been pretty happy with them. This is what has been replaced:

Washer-lid boot. 256.00 done by repairman. Not sure how it tore, but I’m thinking it’s just bad luck, change, or jean pants button.

The coin catcher is a pain in the ass to empty. One pretty much has to disassemble the damn machine.

The fresh cycle fan motor is making noises now. I won’t replace it or use it anymore.

Dryer- been pretty good until recently. We had a drum idler pulley seize up. The part was 14.00, to have a repairman fix it was 266.00.

What I’m happy about is no circuit board issues. Both our current and prior home had whole house GFCI proctected at the breaker panel. Not sure if this helps, but we haven’t had any issues since, and they have popped.

We will not get another front loader. They spin the clothes almost dry, our washer isn’t real loud, but noticeable. The money to repair these washer and dryers can really add up quickly.

Most likely, a commercial grade set will be purchased from speed queen.

    https://www.speedqueen.com/

We spent over 3k on our washer and dryer, and overall it has been pretty good experience all thing considered. Call it a B to B- if you will.

Yep. Most Speed Queen owners never have a problem with their set until well into the 15+ years of ownership... Not even a belt replacement! That's the consumer line, not even the commercial line. And if you need to do work, it's easy to do yourself. Simple equipment with quality parts.
It's a ton of money to drop on a washer and dryer. But if they are going to last 15 years or more, what's $100 or less a year investment?
