Need your opinions are 35x10.5 r/17 too skinny? Looking at Kenda Klever RTs. Price point is right 201$.
I have a 2008 with Bilstein 6112, on the highest setting, 5160s and Rock Warrior rims
    What do you guys think?

    Thanks

I hope 35x11.5x18 isn’t too skinny! As soon as my lift arrives, I’m putting this size TOYO MT on my truck.

Just do it! The Klever's get decent reviews and at that price point.....who gives a s**t what naysayers post. I'm a Cooper Tire fan boy and bought some Indonesian made Patagonia M/T's. No regrets and a wise choice. They have performed quite well! Definitely met my expectations.... $185

Tall and Skinny may look off, BUT they downright perform the best in Mud and Snow. Wides were meant for sand. I had 10 wide tires which mounted only really hit 9" wide on my F250 for plowing snow. They just performed awesome. And hitting the fire roads during spring run off. You just zip through everything. Plus fuel mileage went up with the skinny on

I like em tall n skinny! Just like my women! Jk! But seriously tho, narrower tires create more contact pressure which is superior for every surface except sand and bottomless mud. Been running 34/10.5s for awhile now. 41C8C25B-EF38-4AAD-B2F1-AEC3F5AEE5E5.jpg

Back in the day everyone used tall and skinny and managed to go pretty much anywhere. Of course in sand an aired down flotation tire was better. That's why you had a second set of dune tires if you hit the beach a lot.

I just ordered a set (plus spare) of the Kenda Klever R/T 35x10.5R17 and have an appointment for install next week. I also have the same RW wheels as you. I've liked all the reviews and article write-ups I came across to make we want to pull the trigger on a set...plus got them at a good price. Not sure if you went this route yet but I will keep you posted on my initial experience with them, especially going into the winter.

10.5!!! Waaaaay too skinny. Except form the price, why do u want to go so skinny? Go with 12.5. You have enough height.

Why? Because, barring a very few conditions, tall and skinny will outperform a wide tire off-road or even just in deep snow.

I agree, that is one of the reason's I wanted to stay with a narrower tire. The price for the Kenda's was another, under $200/tire. The BFG's 34x10.5 was one option but at $360/tire I couldn't do it. Toyo A/T3 had a 35x11.5 option but less of a load rating I was looking for, but not to bad of price. Anyhow so decided to give the Kenda's a try. Just got them mounted the other day, love the way they look and feel so far, but I'm excited to see how they perform in snow and different conditions.

If I go from stock 18x8 rims to 18x9.5 aftermarket rims, stock suspension, would you still recommend sticking with 275/65 tires or should I be looking at 285/65?

Offset will likely be +12 on new rims?

Looking to add a more winter friendly tire over our stock H/T but will probably keep them on all year, so will be something like one of the following: Wrangler Duratec, Nitto Ridge Grappler, Cooper Discoverer AT3, Falken Wildpeak AT3 or Costco Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo 3 (cheapest).

I went with 275/70/18's for my 18X9 rims mainly because I does give me a bit of sidewall "pooch" and rides pretty good. 285 or 275/65's would be good. All the tires you listed are good but.......my landlord had the Revo's and wasn't too impressed with them at all. I'm not a fan of any of the Dueler tires.

    Thanks!

Not much info on the Revos. Aside from being cheaper and Costco, they don't seem to be very well regarded in comparison to the others which would be bought from actual Tire shops near me

    Thanks for the picks!

One a little further from behind would show those pizza cutters better.

Do you know if that brand runs that size in an AT tire?

I like pizza cutters. Real work trucks always had tall and skinny tires. I have a set of 11.00r16 XZLs waiting in the shed for my squarebody project which measure about a 38x11.00-16 tire. They don't work good at all in the mud here with a heavy truck though. A wider tire gives better floatation in the mud.

Super swamper LTBs in 34x10.50-17 flavor are only $250. :boink:

Thanks man, ya with the lift I feel they just fit the truck much better. It will be a test for sure, my last two trucks both had BFG T/A KO2 AT's and so was the previous set I had on this one...excited to give something completely different a try.

I'll see if I can take a few later and will add them. As for the same size in A/T...from whats listed on their website it doesn't seem they do. Which would be sweet if that is in the making. It's a bummer because they offer an A/T2 tire that is triple peak snow rated. While looking into the R/T's that was one of the only real gripes I came across in reviews was lack of size options, so I wonder if that's true for other tires in their lineup.
