Just putting feelers out before my OEM battery goes crap! I know I only have 2 years on it and 16,000 miles! But would like to know what the best replacement quality and durability wise for the money would be!

What did you replace your OEM original with?

Sorry i wish i had a picture but never took 1. Its on left side of steering wheel in the black plastic. Cut out a little square with a dremel by the cargo light switch and rear window roll down. Convenient there to run wire through firewall and straight to battery.

I was told there are only two battery manufacturers in America. All batteries sold here come from those two plants? I try to go with Interestate. When I rode a Goldwing. Everyone was sold on Deka or Westco batteries. .But they are not sold for cars and trucks to my knowledge? Peace. D

We'll I replaced my factory battery with an X2 after only 5 months but I needed that type of battery since I'm running a fridge 24/7. If you don't have additional amps running all the time then just get any brand name battery at the price you want to pay. And compare warranties and local availability in case you need to use the warranty (don't special order it). There's not a whole lot else to consider.

I just replaced the original battery last month with an Autozone Gold Duralast on my ‘15. When the Duralast on my wife’s vehicle died after about 3 years of use, Autozone replaced it for free under warranty - saving me about $160. Figured I’d go with Autozone again for my Tundra after that. I’ve tried all kinds of batteries for the past 30 or so years - usually the top of the line offered by NAPA, Exide, Sears, International, etc. None of them really stood out or lasted more than any other. Only one I haven’t tried is the Optima.

I think my driving is hard on batteries. I drive daily, but mostly short trips. My OEM battery died after 4 years and some months. Replaced it with EverStart (Walmart) but it died after one year. I love their refund policy though. They gave me 100 % refund. I bought an Interstate battery and that was about 3 years ago.

Sears Diehard Platinum AGM in my 08 Tundra. My OEM didn't last 2-years in Southern AZ. Heat is supposed to be harder on batteries than cold weather starts. Seems odd, but the AGM battery was still going great when I sold it in May 18.

If you do some research a TON of batteries out there are made by the same manufacturer. For instance costco batteries are labeled as "Interstate" but they aren't the typical green top interstate batteries a lot of folks commonly equate with the Interstate brand. They're made by Johnson Controls. I believe Johnson Controls makes the common brand you find at Walmart too. So unless you're shooting to spend the bigger bucks for a premium battery like the Northstar or Odyssey or Optima, blah blah blah...I think your research will lead you to find a lot of commonalities in the mainstream brand batteries out there. I am far from a battery expert. I've just never been one to find a personal need for a $180+ battery. If you're running a lot of accessories or are not confident in a store brand batter in the $80-$100 range, perhaps your utility or personal confidence dictates the need for something more expensive and "higher end". To each their own!

Same here. Easy to install, and love the setup. Odyssey batteries are worth the cost.
