    Have an 06 DC SR5 with v8.
    Everything is stock
Wanting to get a different muffler on it for a nice throaty sound. I don't want loud and obnoxious, just something that is relatively quiet at idle but sounds good and throaty when you get on it. Also don't want too much drone as this is my DD and family vehicle

Only wanting a muffler, not a whole exhaust or deletes or anything.

    Thanks,
    Jake

YouTube my friend you'll get to hear all kinds of weld in mufflers. I'm partial to flowmaster 50 series. Quiet on the highway but throaty

I got the 8" BA Stainless Muffler system w/ Hemholtz Resonator from Keith at Dirtydeeds.
I LOVE the Sound. Really brings out the V8 Growl WOT & Stock quiet on the Freeway.
Normally he paints them Black. I asked him not to paint mine and let the Stainless Steel Shine.
It seems like it is Just a Bit Louder now that I added the Supercharger. Even Better !!!

He says he's not looking for a full exhaust, just muffler. Since a muffler job is hundreds and hundreds of dollars cheaper, I'm curious to see what options someone chimes in with.

The BAmufflers aren't full exhausts, just a cat-back system. I would suggest spending a little more on his budget system than going with a crappy tin can muffler. Hundreds of satisfied customers on here with one of his setups including me

18" 5x8 magnaflow here. Happy with it.

Rumble on start up (but doesn't wake the neighbors) throaty acceleration, not overly loud or raspy. Some drone on 1750 rpms- 2000 rpms. I don't mind it. I can still talk on Bluetooth on phone calls.

I've listened to them and so far that is the one I like best but I know the sound quality is different in video form vs what I will hear when I put it on. Thats why I'm hesitant and asking around

I wonder if @dirtydeeds would make a weld in muffler for our trucks?

I'm pretty sure it's this one.
    https://www.magnaflow.com/products?partNumber=12288

    Edit:
Also. It's $80-90 depending on where you buy it. If you can weld yourself and you end up not liking it, you're only out $100 bucks or so of scrap pipe and your time. Then definitely go talk to Keith at @dirtydeeds

Like I said before I don't mind the little bit of drone it gives and I wasn't looking to spend $500-1000 on a cat back exhaust.

I get road salted to death up here in the winter and every thing has held up so far. If I ever do end up having to replace anything behind the cats from damage etc., I will definitely be giving Keith a call. His systems are definitely the best you can put on your truck.

Flowmaster 50 series heavy duty muffler !!! It does exactly what you say you want. Nice and deep throaty with minimal drone. Had it on my first Tundra and now I have one on my 3rd! I didn't want to pay for an expensive full exhaust either and just wanted a muffler.....I did opt for the dual in dual out version though in stainless steel/ so the shop that installed it had to add an extra pipe....... any version you opt for will be great and you'll save money on the non-stainless options..... I did a brief write up on it here......

    https://www.tundras.com/threads/best-exhaust-for-the-tundra-ever.15423/

Also I found the stainless version online for 185$....non stainless is more affordable
