I'm trying to decide if I want to hook my 2020's RC rear bumper cube lights into my reverse lights to boost my backup view or tie them into say my bed/cargo lights so I can flip the switch and have them as needed. My hold back on the cargo tie in, is I don't have a boat anymore so I can't really think of a use where I need bumper LEDs behind my truck. I do use a 16' trailer at my deer lease but its more of a day time usage for toting water and feed. What do you folks prefer?

I'm not quite that talented but I'm all ears if you have a link or video to get it accomplished.:D

I'm no electrical engineer :D, but I think you'd just run from both switching devices to the LED with a diode. So if you're tapping into the switch, go to both the cargo switch and the reverse switch, or if you're going to the lights go to both lights, then have something like this: https://www.amazon.com/12v-one-way-diode/s?k=12v+one+way+diode inline, so the reverse lights wont turn the cargo on and vice versa. Bit more wiring though. And take that with a grain of salt, I had to look up what an electrical check valve is even called, but in my brain all that makes sense :D

Did your bumper come with License plate lights?

Yes it did. They are supposed to be used to mount the actual license plate but I went with standard license plate bolts and moved the lights just outside the plate so I don't have to disconnect/cut wires to replace a plate. See the black poles just outside the top corner of each plate.

Yup, that could work. It’s called diode OR’ing. I almost did it for the aftermarket backup cam on my taco so that I could have anytime camera or have it auto turn on in reverse.
