Have a 2010 Tundra SR5 Dbl Cab...just bought it off used lot with 156k miles...one owner who took immaculate care of it...impulse buy cause I can afford it...can't afford a brand new one...anyway when driving it goes through all gears perfectly...no slips...no jumps...but when I cruising at a mere 30-35mph it has this whine that seems to come from transmission...I floor it she picks up a scoots...but mild Mph the whine is there...not real loud...but noticeable...any third???

    Welcome to the site.

Does putting the truck into 4wd (while going straight) make the sound go away or no change?

I have not done that. I will try...should I be listening/looking for something when I do try it?

If it quiets down, probably the front differential needle bearing. Fixable with about 180.00.

Check out ECGS bushing, and some videos on this. Plenty of information. My 12' had this happen to it, but it was under warranty and just dropped a new 2400.00 from diff in. They wanted and recommended the ECGS bushing, but wouldn't warranty the work. The rest was history.

Anyone have the ECGS bushing removal and install tools laying around? I'd like to do this on my truck but seems silly to buy the tools for one use. I've seen on tacomaworld where they trade it off. Is it the same tool for tundra? I assumed it was different size for our bigger clammy.
