Sorry if this is a dumb question...but I wanted to ask the community, what is the largest size tire I can fit in the spare location? I have oversized tires (305/70/18) and wanted to know if I can fit one in the spare location and if not, I will have to find another way to carry the spare.

    Thank you!

Interested as well, run same size. There's a few posts on people fitting 35s

I have a 35” tucked under mine. Just took a hammer to bend back a bracket. Good to go

I would also like a clear answer on this. I posted something like this months ago and saw someone fit a 35” with “some trimming.” But without trimming, I’m not sure.

Depends on the brand, but that size should make it in. Removing the 2 guides will help it sit flush.

I thought I saw someone do 305 70 18 on a stock spare rim and it fit

The tire I have is a STT Pro (305/70/18).
Would anyone know if I bought a different tire in the same size be OK to run in case I need to swap temporarily? Or is it recommended that I have a exact same spare tire?

Sean, what kind of rim do you have on your spare? I have my old Fuel Assault rims and I tried to fit it on the brace that holds the spare and it won't stay on, can't get a good grip. Know of anyone who has changed that bracket?

I have a 305 70 (measures 34.8" x 12.4", bigger than most 35s) under the bed. The guides need to be removed for it to fit, I drilled out the spot welds for a clean removal.

depends on other parts too especially if running larger shackles like coachbuilder or aftermarket exhaust..etc...
I have a 295/70/18 there but we had to cut the brackets to make space. YMMV

That's weird... I fit my 295/70R18 with no modifications.

I’ve heard that you put your two regular sizes on the front and run the spare in the rear if this is the case. Also trying to figure this out, especially here on Oahu where one side of the island to the other is an hour trip at most haha.

the thing is you have to swap 2 wheels now instead of one if you have a flat on the front. with one jack it's getting complicated. Best is to have a full size spare.
