I used AutoDip which may be SuperWrap now as it’s the same kind of labeling. A stone chip would go through all the layers and I’d see a chrome speckle, drove my OCD a little too the coating didn’t match the rest of the truck.

I must have redid the whole thing 3x over a few months of periodic chipping. A full day process of prep, netting the coat, multiple coats, dry time in-between. I gave up and bought an OEM bulge and grille/surround.

Yeah I just have the front and rear bumper caps left that are chrome and that’s was my fear with stuff like that on the front end....may be fine for the rear caps but sounds like a futile effort for the front end parts. Appreciate the update! My OCD would not do well with that either

Spent my lunch break working on my truck. Still need to pull it back out, vacuum the styrofoam debris out, put the carpet cutouts in the bottom of the holes, and then cut my rear floor liner to fit.

Yea, they really need to get an unlock button for the tailgate on the key fob or unlock it with the doors.

So I'm just gonna start off with an apology. Im sorry I'm a jackass when it comes to something as simple as a sticker. With a tool in my hand I'm good, I've installed almost every mod on my truck myself, but a sticker not so much, I've found they're above my capability. I now realize why it's probably better I'm not a sticker guy otherwise my truck would look like a hot mess.

My truck is dirty AF, so I cleaned up an area real nice in the top right corner of my tailgate with great intentions for what I believed would be the perfect spot. Sorry shitty pic.
    20190502_201520.jpg

For the 1 and only sticker I've ever put on any vehicle, I wanted to proudly display my little token of appreciation to all the great men and women who serve in our military and display my patriotism for our country by applying an American flag sticker given to me from a fellow member. The same type of person who's willing to send a complete stranger a sticker, just so happens to be the same type of person who's willing to put their life on the line to fight for the freedoms most of us take for granted everyday. It was gonna be my little way of saying thank you to him for his sacrifices and others like him serving or have served in our military.

Unfortunately it didn't go as planned. I didn't realize that when I went to reposition it without even pushing it down, still parts were going to peel off. Parts were being left behind as others remained to the backing. Pieces got caught up, even twisted and bunched up. It was a mess and even alone, I was embarrassed. I felt horrible and the last thing I wanted to do was throw it away in the trash. I felt that would be like sacrilegious. I painstakingly peeled the pieces that came off and reconnected the ones that twisted and remained on the backing. I must say I actually did a pretty good job putting it back together. Although I couldn't put it where I proudly intended, it didn't go to waste. For now, I'll just have to live with it not being where I intended.

Despite my mess up, I'm still very happy it didnt go to waste and it still reminds me to be thankful for all I do have. It reminds me there are still some really great people out there, despite my lack of patience for most people in general. I go in there everyday, multiple times each day. So despite it not being where I wanted and intended, it still serves a great purpose to myself. It's something that I'll notice everyday and it'll remind me of a bunch of important life lessons. Here's the final results of my efforts despite my initial F up.
    20190502_200442.jpg

Despite my lackluster application and blatantly displayed lack of experience applying stickers. I just wanted to say thanks again for the sticker and more importantly, thank you, and other like you for your service.

No rubbing with the 35's? I had to pull my covers off. Still need to trim about a 1/4" of the plastic fender lip where it curls under.
