A while back I got in on the Tech12Volts group buy for new speakers and an amp. I added two 10” subs to my order as well. Today I took a trip to see James @james@tech12volts and have the goods installed by the master! This system KICKS ASS!!!! I was expecting a big difference but this totally blew me away!! James and his crew are hands down the best. Honest, hard working dudes that are focused on customer service. They answered all my questions and even asked me to play all the music I wanted to make sure I was completely satisfied before I drove away. If you are considering upgrading anything related the to the sound system, call James and talk to him. He will give you an honest opinion for a setup thats right for your needs.

A HUGE Thank You to James and crew for the great deal and even better customer service!! Y’all stay safe in those crazy thunder storms! Didn’t get a chance to take pics during the install so here’s some logos.

I looked a while back at the owners manual regarding these fluids and if I remember correctly, Toyota don't recommend to do these sort of things until very high mileage. I want to say I remember like 70k-100k, somewhere in there?

What do you and everyone else think? At how many miles should these be changed?
I'm specifically interested in finding out if maybe I should do sooner than they recommend considering I tow and run pretty big heavy tires?

Even though Toyota recommends oil changes every 10k and only needing to run regular fuel, it is been my experience to notice a difference in how smooth things are when I first change my oil every 5k instead of 10k when I rotate my tires, and running super fuel. My truck is tuned so I have noticed a bit of a difference running higher octane + 91 fuel. I'm aware I don't need to do these things, but I have noticed a difference in how the truck feels smoother both changing oil every 5k and running premium fuel. Plus doing both of these things makes me feel better about treating my truck the best I can. Like I said, I'm not saying everyone needs to do what I do, but I've personally noticed a little difference in my truck. Even though I know I don't have to, it makes me feel better about things, that I'm doing everything in my power to get the absolute most out my truck.

I'm well aware I'm not going to do any damage by waiting until every 10k miles to change my oil, however, when I first change it every 5k, I can honestly feel the truck running a tad smoother when I do the oil change. There's definitely a small difference when I first drive the truck changing the oil at every 5k, compared to how it feels getting near that 5k. It's just slightly smoother after the change that I notice. Then it goes away because I get use to it. Not that at 5k it feels bad, I just notice it's ever slightly smoother on that 1st drive after changing at 5k. Same with running premium fuel. So 5k changes and premium it is for me.

Taking that into consideration, that I'm anal enough to do 5k oil and tire rotations, run only premium fuel, ect. At how many miles should an asshole like me change those other fluids that it seems to me Toyota is recommending a bit longer than they should on. I think I heard a service writer say either 60-70k miles if you tow? Not only what u guys do, but considering my craziness, when do you think an overly cautious j/o like myself should do it, to get the most he can out his truck? I rather be way too early than 1 mile too late.

Unfortunately too far from me. But I bought all my shit from him. Literally down to the very last nut, washer, and bolt was included in his package of goodies shipped to me.

The place that did my install literally called him after telling me it was the best and most complete kit they ever seen put together from someone else, told him they would be willing to install any and every kit that he would put together, for any customers that live in the area by me. That's not too common in that biz.

Ya my original plan was to get the bilstein 6112 and 5160s but I changed my mind due to wanting a different wheel and tire setup.

It’s a really nice canopy, I had to take all their stickers off tho. I really like being able to unlock it with my key fob. I’m going to get the tailgate pop n lock and tie it to the canopy wiring so I don’t have to run a second set of wires to the cab.

Man I love this pic that I gave SSO permission to use on their Instagram post. I came across it earlier today when looking for someone about the bumper. Just cant stop looking at it, cant get over how mean it all looks. Especially with them nice new shoes on. Them new wheels and rubber are killing it. Not too shabby when over 500 and counting are feeling it too enough to give it a like. It's making Papa proud.

Unless you are towing quite a bit. Then the change intervals will be less, particularly, the transmission fluid.

    And shorten your posts, bro...wow!

Added a slim line “overland box,” or toolbox, whatever you want to call it to my Crewmax. Had a full size box and it didn’t leave room for my camping box under or the bike to ride on the tailgate pad. Really makes up for the lack of under-seat storage imo, have basic tools, recovery gear, tie downs, emergency gear, jump starter, first aid all in with some room to spare. I am going with a mix of clear serilite boxes, and tool bags to organize everything. After the full size box had to really deliberate, and pare down what all was appropriate for every day carry. Love how it leaves me so much more space in the bed, but still carries all I truly need. Also, always wanted a uws box and the quality is not disappointing! My wife is going to make a custom color match cavalry blue reflective decal with custom logo to put over the UWS logo.

Usually for hiking I have used Motion-X GPS in the past but i've been trying out Gaia GPS which is the app in the screenshot (yes it's a cell/wifi ipad air). I also use Waze when on normal roads as well as OBD Fusion with a wifi OBD connector.

I have a new iPad mount coming from Armor-X so I can use it with their waterproof case which I also use with a long arm mount that connects to the seat of my fishing kayak. I had to pull the iPad out of the Armor-X case to get it to work in the Ram mount so i'm hoping this will be better and I won't have to keep swapping cases.

You need to post some pics and details of that Kona Process in the Mountain bike thread. The new box looks great, wish I had known about that before I bought a cover.
