What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

@pitts101 How long did it take you to install the headlights? This is next on my list. I hate my 16' headlights performance.

 

It took me and a buddy about 3 or 4 hours start to finish but it was all fun easy work especially with ihackers wire harness.

 

At least you were stalled on my lucky number.

 

Don't forget the dust cap.

Hi Mike, I'm doing better THANKS Getting closer for you to make that call. Do you have any idea what time frame, because if he is booking for mid December or after I should schedule a date then?

 

I don't know for sure, but I'm guessing he's probably around a month out on appt list. Think when he did my coating it was about a 3 week wait. U can always schedule further out from his wait list, just can't go the other way on it. Whenever u ready my man just let me know.

I did, i think there's a quality difference and since I'm planning on keeping the truck for a long time I didn't mind paying a bit more.

Are these direct replacement?

 

Was installing mid travel kit however was missing UCA bushings once I went over everything. So I decided to possibly be the first to have 37/12.50R17 on completely stock suspension and no lift blocks or anything. Healthy BMC and some pinch weld hammering and no rub. Just painted for now however I’ll be welding it up with the SDHQ plates ASAP.

 

I just plasti dipped the badges for now. I want to see how it holds up and wasn't sure if I would like the look, but I do. I'll probably either get them professionally painted or buy replacements at some point.

Or are you asking about the USB outlets? Those needed a little filing to get them to fit, but was overall pretty easy.

 

I primarily use the waterless just for situations like that where I want to clean off a small area. The vinyl went on fine. I had to apply a little heat using a blow dryer, but I don't think that's out of the norm.

When we had our A.R.E. MX HD shell installed, we lost a bit of visibility out the back window because we opted for the model with no side windows and side-mount tool boxes on both the driver and passenger side of the shell itself. After driving from our corporate headquarters in North Carolina to Las Vegas for the SEMA Show the week before last, I decided I had to do something to get rid of those blindspots, particularly on the passenger side, so I did a live install at our booth of a universal blindspot camera system that we manufacture using our 250-8243 4-camera mirror and 250-8160-BSC blindspot cameras.

Here's a quick picture of what the cameras look like on the side mirror and the mirror itself displaying the video when the right and left turn signals are activated.

Interesting! But I wish it integrated with the existing video system. I like the blind spot camera but not the fact I have to get rid of my auto-dimming rear view mirror.

 

We developed a system to do that but never released it for sale out of safety concerns. It requires you to look down and away from the road for far too long.

 

True, but Honda does the same thing.. LOL except it only displays when you signal to turn right or merge. Thanks

We have multi-cam systems for GM and Ford trucks that display in the OE screen and sell like hotcakes, but looking down while I was on the road was unnerving.

 

How do you like that rack? Have you added any accessories?

 

just picked up my powder coated end caps in white. not bad for $75. now to install them.
