Added the SSO Slimline last night. Took too much on for the night with the painting off the end caps as well. Finished at 2:30am with a little alignment issues of the end caps that I can fix later. But more importantly the X20 could not fit with the SR30 Rigid, and the solenoid is just sitting next to it. I will need to reposition that as well.

    UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE
Talked to Kevin at SSO im great length. It seems they have had one other problem with the fitment and thought it was just the winch (Not an X20 or Xeon). The tabs they use for the lightbar mount are standard tabs. The Tundra being so shallow seems to need a little more cut out of the tab mount to allow the bolt to drop a little further down and out towards the front of the bumper. Due to this issue, there will be a redesign (slight) of the bracket, which will basically consist of extending the hole a little more where the bolts slide in. This will make the light bar flush, or protruding from the front slightly, rather than flush to the inside metal wall of the bumper. Not a big deal at all, but if it stops the possibility of such a tight fit, then it is a good thing

Incidentally, the Heise and BD bars are not nearly as deep and "styled" like the Rigid has for heat sinks, and this is where the issue is, the Light bar. It is all a learning experience, and I have to commend Kevin at SSO for being right there with me and taking the time. They have been excellent, and ever offered a discount that I declined, as the money doesnt mean as much as the support and empathy.

I will drop the bumper, use a dremel to bring the tab mount forward a little, and figure out the relocation of the solenoid to a better more aesthetically appealing position (for my peace of mind).

    Hope this dialogue helps everyone!

I mean.. I can't give a 100% impression yet because I'm still breaking in the gears and haven't experienced it at speeds higher than 65mph but there's significantly more "oomph" back when moving from dead stops, accelerating, and shifting gears.

For the first day's breaking in of gears, I did the following..

Drove ~13 miles from their shop to my house and went no higher than 60mph.
Let the truck rest for about 30 minutes.
Drove 1 mile to the gym.
Let the truck rest for about 1 hour.
Drove ~13 miles from the gym to somewhere in La Jolla to grab dinner; no higher than 65mph.
Let the truck rest for about 45 minutes.
Drove ~15 miles home; no higher than 65mph.

Going to let the truck cool overnight and do 2-3 more passes at short distance mid-range speed runs.

Question though.. how do I go about breaking in the front gears!?

Oh, also.. instead of using 85/90-140 oil in the front and rear. They used straight 90 in the front and straight 140 in the rear.

Update from my instal of my redesigned S&B cai system. After close to 600 miles here is my average: city 14.5 mpg driving normal and Hwy 30.0 mpg driving 58mph at 2.2k rpm for a little over 20+ miles. Now that I know I can get better gas mileage than previous 12.5 mpg city and 15.3 Hwy, I will drive the opposite and drive like a “BEAST”C59F5105-53CB-4085-892B-E90446C39B48.jpg

You should be able to wear in the gears on the next couple long trail runs.

Do you have a thermal gun? You can buy a cheap one at HF. Check the gears every 30 min or so and give them a break if need be. This is when taking the GF with and getting bored comes in handy. ;)

All you want to do is wear in the gears, heat cycle them a bit, until the temp comes up and stays within a normal range. They probably said 500 mile break in.

I can probably say with confidence, the 5.38 gears in my Heep are not fully broken in yet three years later. We just don’t go that fast often. Amazing how much we explode gear sets though. :spending:

I sold accessories for my last job and my personal experience with Husky was they curl to much and it helps when I can get Weather Tech for free :)

That's funny my weathertech in the rear is curled up near the door. Was thinking about taking a heat gun to it to see if the curls will fall out.

Nice! I will be looking forward to your update w/ more aggressive driving. I have been averaging ~13.5mpg w/ 50/50 city/highway. Red lights and intersections seem to bring down mpg by A LOT.

This is on stock suspension w/ 255/70/18 steel wheels

    Flux capacitor!
There is a certain recommendation for break in. I would suggest you call the gear manufacturer and follow their own break in specs. I can recommend that you change out your oil after the first 500 miles. Plus make sure if they recommend to add synthetic oil and if they recommend an oil additive. Each company recommends different specs.

Yes it happens I cant deny that, best fix is lay it upside down where it is warm with weight on it like a book or something. When I sold Husky i personally wasn't a fan is all.
