Installed my RCI skid plate. This thing looks cool. It is the steel one. I saw the pic of the aluminum ones and did not want to risk it even though I'd probably never do serious off roading. It is 45lbs on the shipping label. I really liked the fit and finish on it. It took two weeks to get to me. One week for the coating and another for the shipping. It may be placebo but I bought mine used and it did not have the plastic oem cover so now that I have this, truck feels more solid. I dunno...

It is actually a Ram. The Ram fanboys take offense at it when you call their Ram a Dodge; I have been corrected several times.

I don't know. When they start talking Tundra and import in the same sentence I usually tell them they have a Fiat now with a Ram logo and that a lot of those Fiat/Ram trucks are built south of the border. Pisses them off; not that I am confrontational but you got to set the record straight.

actually I would like that in Toyota's. that space you free up for storage in the area that the shifter takes up makes up a lot. not like the shifter it actually tied to a linkage anyway nowadays for Toyota.

the rams that have the knob, the storage bin is laid out pretty good. special holder just for your phone and other misc things is nice.

I expect Toyota will move to a shift knob, just like they did for the 4wd system.

All of my LEDs except for the '18 OEM Headlight housing, '18 OEM fog lights and puddle lights are VLEDS. I used their guide for everything inside and out, however since they don't have 2018's listed yet, I used their procedure in the help area to determine the proper front turn signal replacement LED since it is different than my 2016 halogen replacement listing (I ordered the wrong one initially). Everything else was the same as 2016.

Yes, VLEDS sells a "sealed" resister with water proof connector that I used. Thanks to @BlueBottle I used one 3 ohm resister on each side in the rear fender housing - VLEDS has a guide to determine how much resistance is needed for your application (whether to use 6 ohms or 3 ohms depends upon bulb/LED combination)

They don't have the '18s models listed yet, but the only difference I found was that the front turn signals are 7444NA and they have specific LEDs for use when the amber turn signal is also the DRL. Mine is a Platinum which uses the amber as a turn signal only (NOT DRL).

I actually had a 17 Ram for a while and it didn't take me to long to get used to the shift dial. In all reality how often do you use the shifter? I put mine in D, R or P that's it, I don't use the S mode. The Ram also had +/_ buttons on the steering wheel if manual shifting is needed.
My wife's BMW has S-mode on the shift lever (same as the Tundra) and since she has the M model also has shift paddles on the steering wheel for the "sporty and engaged" driver, I used them once just to try them out. In general I think the TCM does a better job selecting the correct gear, except going downhill when engine breaking is helpful.
