Unscrew the 2 nuts with the T30 screw and then they just pop out.. the backs will come off as soon as you u unscrew them, but the. You have to tug a bit on the sides of the light because they're 2 pop outs that you need to " pop out " for the entire light to come off, then take the bulbs out. Took 2 mins to do

Can anyone tell me how the OE Bed track is mounted? Are the holes in the bed threaded? I received my revolver x2 today, unpacked for install but looks like there are two methods to install. One has c-clamps and other uses the bed track holes, I received the bed track mount version. There are a few holes in my bed where it looks like the track goes but there not threaded.

Yes, they're threaded. Did they bedliner over your holes?

They shouldn't have done that. You can either try calling the dealership and complaining, and have them drill out the holes. Or maybe they'll even install it for you. Or if they don't help you, get some measurements from someone and try to locate the holes.

Here's what I have, at the rear most point I looked inside the stake pocket hole and can see a nut on the backside. This must be what they screw into, you would think the factory would have thought to plug them before spraying .20170405_175152.jpg 20170405_175330.jpg 20170405_175341.jpg

Sorry, don't have my truck in front of me but I believe there are holes where I circled, like where the arrow is pointing.

That's what I was thinking for locations as well, the one where you have the arrow must be a locating hole for the rail as its not threaded. I think I'm just going to see if @SuperSilverTundra can just send me a set of the non rail mounting clamps. I don't think I want to start cutting away the liner to find the holes.

If for some reason you can't get the clamps and need to drill, I don't think it would be that difficult. The bolts are M6x1.0 and shouldn't be too difficult to find that hole with a tiny drill and some good pictures to locate them.

IIRC, one of those holes is for initialing anchoring the rail via a plastic clip.

Exactly. Each side rail has two and I think the forward rail has one in the middle. Why they are there is beyond me. I threw them out when I remounted the CM rails to the bedcover mounts.

I cleaned, decreased, and then scuffed the shit out of it with 100. That wasn't deep enough, so I went to 80. Then cleaned, decreased, and hit it with 3 coats of dupli color self etching primer.

If I do it again, I'm use epoxy primer instead of self etching. You can get it in a ratte can, just costs three times as much as self etching. I kicked it with seven seconds of putting back together. Right through to chrome.

If you look between the bed and the cabin you can see the back bolts welded to the bed. I'd eyeball one of those and poke a pin through your bedliner and through the body hole then work out the spray material to see how it goes.

Stupid them for spraying over it!

This. I would try to poke it with a small nail or such. You may be able to find where it slightly dents in. Can someone confirm if on the trucks without the rails they cover the holes with maybe a small sticker?
Youd think there would be a small dimple if they werent covered up before spraying.

You guys are awesome! Just went outside and looked it back over, no small sticker and only one was dimpled in a little. What I did was take a small pik and my bed rail from my tacoma and was able to locate all the holes in the areas joonbug circled for me. Found each hole on the first try so it wasn't that bad. Starting to rain here unfortunately so will finish install tomorrow.20170405_194208.jpg

If I had to guess, it's probably for when they spray bedliner over the other holes so you can find them when installing the rails. :notsure:

I think that clip is just there to hold the rails in place while you install the bolts.

    Right here https://www.tundras.com/threads/sealing-tailgate-bakflip-mx4-tonneau-cover.8622/

I saw it first hand and it's really nice. Consider scuffing the bedliner with sandpaper to ensure a good bond with the adhesive as some liners are actually smooth at the micro level despite feeling rough. This goes for the seal on the bulkhead for your cover as well. Def helped mine stick.

When installing the X2 leave the four cover bolts loose, then get inside and have someone close the tailgate. Have them pull the cover back so that the big rubber seal under the lid is set well against the inside edge of the tailgate.
