Not a big mod but I got the TUNDRA letters in today. Next up new shoes, 4x4 overlay and Tyger Star bars in July.

I'm wanting to de-badge my truck, but I'm wondering if it's too late to. It's a 2016, so that's 4 years of sitting in the sun. I just don't want there to be a color difference when they come off. Any experience with this happening or not happening?

@Rely01 After 2 years of my truck being in the sun almost 24/7, I just removed my TSS stickers (see above post #39733). I can't see any color difference. Not sure what another 2 years would do though.

FWIW I took a badge off my 14 in 2017 after I bought it and you can still see it at certain angles.

My boxers would definitely disagree with you. They ride in the truck on a regular basis as I take them to a battlefield park for hiking when possible. As mentioned before, if not for the limited backseat space I would be over in the taco forum. But, you all are cool to hang out with.

Great post showing each step! I don't know why Toyota wasted all that space! I wish they would have made the buildup only about 20% of what they did. I may do this to my truck in the future. But still waiting for my Peragon cover to come in now.

    Trying not to mod it
It's because of the seat mounting frames they use. They are large and thick and run forward between where those ESP bins go, so Toyota would have to use different seat mounts to make that hump much smaller than it is. That's partly why the ESP long box is so expensive. They have to provide new lower profile seat mounts to allow the box to run the width of the cab.

What size Hi-Lift jack did you go with. The 60’ is only a couple more dollars than the 48’ but I think it’s overkill.

Thank you both. I'm sure it depends on the color quite a bit. Hopefully the silver on my truck won't show too bad. Did you do the removal yourself or have it done?

Honestly, on a whim this morning I just peeled if off hahaha start at one corner and pick at it until its peeling up, then slowly work along the top. Then slowly pull it down. It came off pretty smoothly. Left a little residue but nothing some goo gone didn't fix. Then just hit it with some windex to remove the goo gone residue. I just used my finger nails to get under the edge. Do not use a sharp blade or you could damage your paint.

I guess I should consider doing the sound deadening and folding seat mod while I’m at it?

Agreed. I'm probably going to be getting a Cane Corso anyday now which get up to around 150 lbs and possibly a 2nd at anytime from this weekend going forward. Being able to fold the seats up to have them ride in the back of the cab without jumping up and tearing up my leather would be great. I think the storage boxes back there could make that less feasible getting in the way and would be less comfortable for any dogs. I will say if it wasn't for that or if I had a bed cap I do think the esp storage boxes cut into the floor is a great idea I'd love to have.
