But too many of these idiotic "do as I say, not as I do" laws for me to not to return to Virginia once Uncle Sam doesn't sign my paychecks anymore.

i lived in Texas for 4 years before i transferred residency from Nevada to Texas.

Not yet, have a few more pieces to paint. I am buying extra so I can change it out without having to do all painting and install in a day. Once I do I will post pics..

Bilstein 6112 coilovers set at +1.9" went on Saturday morning. 1.9" is the right setting. The install with a 2.5" setting would have been tough. It was hard enough to get the lower control arm low enough to fit at the 1.9" setting. Other than that install was fairly simple. Those freaking wheels with the BFGs are heavy. Next up is the TRD Pro grill and light bar. Grill has shipped. Many thanks to Roman.

Looks great, match that 3rd and u good to go. Really makes big difference in looking better. I was considering doing same but didn't want to worry about light output, someone hitting in back n saying couldn't see brake. So I just tinted reverse in tails and cargo in 3rd. Prob solved no loss except my own light but no loss on road with other people seeing lights. Good job though I like the look.

So i decided to give the DIY Tinted Tail light mod a shot so heres the progress!heres the tails wet sanded with 1500 grit sand paper and cleaned off with some degreaser. Heres how it looks 2 coats in! Had to move indoors since it randomly decided to downpour on me...and heres the finished product mounted. It has a smokey dark look due to the fact it started downpouring so ill have to come back another day and wet sand it with 2000 grit sand paper and apply 3-4 wet coats of clear coat to give it back its glossy look!

Getting my front 2 windows tinted to match the back windows on Friday.

 

I'm doing my best to resist the urge to clean this up a little in the front with a red factor 55 pro link and Black daystar D ring shackle isolators. The pro link replaces chrome warn hook, it allows rope to be fully retracted within bumper with only the red pro link flush against fairlead and isolators keep the D rings from hitting metal on metal on bumper (also adds black color to bottom middle of D Ring. I know once I pull trigger on that 150 I'll say what the hell and throw in a bubba rope, tree saver, choker chain, snatch block and tow strap. Might as well pair that shiny new warn platinum zeon 10s winch and SSO slimline hybrid oem bumper with some shiny new accessories right? Out with the old in with the new? I'm really trying to slow my roll BUT..... it will complete the setup up front. All I can hear is Arnold Schwarzenegger in predator saying do it, do it now..kill me I'm here

 

I am guessing $3500.00 for the SSOR bumper as this bumper fits and sits? Am I close?

Close but that's bumper, winch, light bar, relocate kit, ect and couple other goodies. But yes for everything pretty close. That winch alone is hard to find for under 1700-2000. Think I got 1499 with much shopping of price.

 

Even though ur guess is pretty close, I thought it important to mention this. Even though I'm a lunatic and spend crazy money, I don't want to scare anyone away from getting a similar setup. You can get something very similar for significantly less, simply go with the same bumper but in their universal model, that paired with just about any other significantly less expensive winch and that will probably save you more than a grand. Especially if you don't plan to use the winch that much. Or scrap winch all together if no need and save couple grand. Sso has ton of options depending on ur needs and the bumper can be fabricated according to your needs. Just thought that was important. You don't need to go crazy like me on price of it all.

That Zeon 10 w/ syn rope is a nice piece of kit. Do you have any plans to theft proof it or does the way its mounted in the SSO protect it?

I see you changed to a Factor55 Hawse, what did you do with your Warn one? My new Warn M could use one

I think you did a great job on the install. I agree it's $3400 large that possibly many including myself will probably not hand over. I honestly don't have a need or can I justify the $$$ for a winch or the Baja LB.
I even went the less expensive route on the LB with a Rough Country lower bumper LB Tundra specific mount. $259.00 and its blinding.

That said, I really think it looks great and is the cleanest sharpest bumper, LB, and winch install I have seen yet. Good on you!

Yeah that winch is no joke, fast and wireless remote clutch is awesome. Down road i can run 2 accessories off it too, ir fogs. Yes another great benefit to the bumper. Theft proof, no need for any additional protection. Another reason I went that route with the bumper. Unless u got hours to steal my whole bumper your not getting my winch lol. I did change to factor 55 fairlead before even using warn fairlead. I got it, it's brand new. Let me know what they sell for brand new online or from store and I'll save u some money off that. I was going to keep just in case, but now I think about it I'd be willing to sell to u.

 

I would not worry about bumper theft either. Thieves would likely target and steal the entire truck and chop it out for parts. I'd spend the $$$ and have it dialed in with the best alarm made. FWIW..

 

Thanks Dave on the whole setup compliment. I always make sure anything I put on my truck adds value, it's not only got to look great but serve a purpose or function too or it don't go on. I'm also big believer in getting what u pay for. With that said, if someone didn't need a winch and only wanted a lightbar, the sso bumper can be made with the winch cover plate and just the cutout for a 30 inch lightbar. I've seen others who on Tacomas have that setup. I'm guessing any less expensive or size bar can fill the space and it's not necessary to get a winch for this bumper. They can build according to individuals needs. I've seen them not powder coated, without lightbar or winch, without stinger ect. The less u require the less expensive. I'm pretty sure if someone just wanted the bumper alone it would be very competitively priced with the other bumpers on market. Just letting everyone know they don't need to pay anywhere near what my setup costs. U can go on the southernStyleoffroad.com site and build it without all extras and see for yourselves that it would cost thousands less than my setup. Don't let the cost of my setup scare anyone away from getting a great product at a great and significantly lower price. Just FYI all.

 

Trust me I hear all your concerns Dave regarding price. But u also must keep in mind that out of that large price the winch itself all alone accounts for more than half that cost. So no winch or less expensive than 1 I got and boom, now ur looking around half that with all else I got. Then if u don't need such a great and pricey lightbar, boom save urself more. All I'm saying is don't use my setup as a cost scare. I can almost guarantee most don't need or want all I got for that much. That winch is seriously expensive and accounts for very large percent of total cost. Get a good but cheaper 10k smittybuilt and theres probably a sahings of over a grand and still getting a winch. My point is there's tons of options for anyone. If I was anyone else I would take the cost of my setup with a grain of salt, chances most don't need all I got and when they figure out what they need and budget it won't end up costing anywhere near my setup. Don't let my setup scare anyone away before they price what they need themselves. Chances are they can get similar setup for at least a half to a third of my setup cost. Go on their site,build only what YOU need and find out yourselves before u say it's too expensive. Good luck guys and thanks for all the compliments on it, much appreciated.

Yeah I'm in process of gathering all my receipts in mods to see about adding everything to insurance. Now that I've managed to go pretty crazy on mods, parts, accessories I think it wise to add this all to my insurance cost that way totalled or stolen I don't lose a whole bunch of money. But bumper and winch is pretty damn near impossible to steal alone in public. Like u said I'm more concerned and greater chance taking whole thing.
