Hit the caps with an old school rub down. I’m thinking about the sunrise red I’ve seen on here for the tow hooks & these toyota symbols. I plan to do a TRD skid plate and it seems to match nicely. IMG_7560.jpg

With the road quality in LA, or lack thereof, people actually speed there?

Thanks. Only reason I am considering the aftermarket option is because the stock design is clearly a design that is going to freeze up again in the future. Just not wanting to have to cut out lower control arms every time I need an alignment. Truck is only 6 years old and the lower control arms need cut out, ridiculous!

Technically yesterday, but aired down and hit the trails to shoot a little bow with the wife and girls. These deflators are like $100 on Amazon and go from 32-18 psi in about three minutes. Worth every penny

Got the BDS 7" lift , updated struts, and Mickys 37. Looking forward to my camping trips in B.C Canada. I do light off road and nothing serious so loving the new look and ride feel of this set up. Towers over the 4 runner. It isn't my daily driver but looking forward to sharing the new camping spots found.

Pictures don't really show true, so 125lbs Rotti for scale :p

Took the extended weekend and warm weather (above 32* lol) to install the 6112 and toytec shackles that have been sitting in my garage since black friday. I had Hotshot Offroad set them at 1.9" and am using 1 coachbuilder spacer on the driver side.

I rented tools from Advanced Auto to push out the rear leaf bushing, which worked great. I did run into a bunch of small hold-ups, which I anticipated. 30k miles on the truck and the rear shocks just did not want to cooperate. I am doing this in my driverway, against HOA rules lol and almost threw in the towel. Then I got out the BFH and angle grinder and just destroyed the rear shocks. Rear was done Friday afternoon, front was done Saturday afternoon. Alignment was done today.

Front: 6112 @ 1.9" w one spacer on driver side
Rear: toytec shackle set at 1" (option of 1.5" also), 5100 shocks

Before: driver front 36, pass front 36.5, driver rear 38.37, pass rear 38.25

After: driver front 38.25, pass front 38.5, driver rear 40, pass rear 39.5

So I STILL have driver side lean and the spacer did not get me where I wanted

I just got back from CJsTire for alignment. Post-it note was what I asked for. ANNNNDDDD of course I ordered Nokian Outpost nAT tires in 285/75r18, which will be in next week. I was going to go with my favorite Falken Wildpeak at4w, but the weight scared me off. This is my daily driver and I still need some pep and gas mileage. I have the Banks throttle controller which will help some.

I stopped at everyone's favorite tool store to get a large wrench set. I didnt have a 24mm to loosen the front LCAs and that was a PITA. I used the 15% off any item to buy the pictured wrench set. I'll grab the SAE large set next sale.

    Current state post-lift w OE 265 tires.

Sounds about right. I ordered some iPhone charging cables from Monoprice. Shipped from Hebron, KY…2 weeks later it’s in Grand Rapids, MI. Keep in mind I live 5 hours from Hebron. They could have walked it here in that timeframe.

Interesting your rear shocks caused you issues. Did mine in like 30 minutes and I had 85K on my truck. What in particular held you up? I had way more trouble with the front coilovers. Wasted a bunch of time by trying to slip them in without loosening with the LCA bolts, that was a mistake. Ended up smashing my pinky getting the passenger one in. All the guys prying down the LCA's on the instructional vids have lifts and I guess I couldn't get enough leverage on the ground.

    Looks good though!

Does it match the red on the sway bar pretty close in person? Love this truck

Every day something new to buy pops up on here.. those would look nice & should match perfect. They may end up in my next cart on a 25% sale, thanks for the part #!

Rear diff breather mod. Had parts for a few months. But being that the tailing hrs were out for bed stiffeners, figured better get it done. of course this was all before I read the thread about using a two way valve. So I’ll be grabbing a 2way to replace the old reused breather. IMG_6590.jpg

where’d you get the alignment numbers from? And still on factory uppers?

edit: yes I know you don’t need new UCA unless you’re hitting 2.5”, but just curious

The top of the shock. I worked the nut back and forth to break the crud, but they got stuck at the top with nothing left to grab on to. The shock was just rotating. I cant believe the only way to stabilize a shock is the tiny flat spot on top.

The alignment numbers were from threads on this forum. Yes, factory uppers. One of the reasons for staying under 3" was to keep the factory UCA, no dif drop, and front sensor friendly. Aftermarket are just too expensive for what it is and require regulare maintenance.

Yeah I ran my old tundra at 3.5” with aftermarket UCA, but about to do my 2.5 gen at 2” I believe and still debating on swapping in my UCA or not

No sir it matches the truck color but they have a red similar to the TRD red on the sway bar
