What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

Yep. Love the “rust belt”. Passenger side came out easy peasy with the m12 stubby. Driver side, not so much I had it soaking in Kroil all night. so we’ll give it another shot today

 

Also just finished replacing both inner and outer tie rods on both sides. With a ton of help from @blenton and @Yota303.

 

You drained 5qts out so I would put back 5.5qts to make sure you have enough which probably won't be coming back out of the fill hole then run the temp level check. Don't forget to run it through the gears after you first fill it while it's warming up with your foot on the brake.

 

Of course reply after I put the skid and cat plates back on LOL.

 

And finally got the bed stiffeners in. Won’t be able to to test until later this week after the alignment from tie rod work.

 

Is the Digits only plan a physical SIM card you have to request from the store then insert it into the SIM card reader on the HU? Or can it be done by installing the Digits app on one or both phone and HU?

 

Yeah, this was the first time working on those for myself...surprisingly torqued!

Okay gotcha, thank you. Yeah I already have the Dasaita hu hooked up. I've just been using Android Auto for the couple weeks that I've had it installed but thinking of trying the SIM. There are certain minor things about android auto that I don't care too much about do might give the SIM a try.

It’s definitely going, but it doesn’t exactly look like a normal construction site, obviously. LOL

 

Installed the sPOD switch panel today and also got the data cable run through the firewall to the terminal control block in the engine bay. Turned out really nice using the RMF 001 sPOD mini6 console insert. Thanks @RainMan_PNW for making this great product.

Anyone heard of these LCA's? I have a frozen one and they are saying it needs to be cut out. Honestly I don't know which direction to go? And it seems to be a recurring issue with the stock parts

If so, it appears that they aren't much different price wise than OE stuff from Toyota. I just purchased both LCA's for my '13 from from Fred Anderson; with their 25% off sale and free shipping it was $417 to my door. They don't have 25% off right now but do have 15% off and free shipping, so $450ish to your door without the cam bolts.

Freedom's listing says 'heavy duty OE Style balljoint' which makes me thing that they an aftermarket reproduction. As for quality, I can't speak to Freedom Offroad's gear good or bad. So maybe they are stellar, maybe they aren't. I wonder how much they weigh? I ask that because there was a YhouhgToober comparing 1st gen LCA's and the cheaper knockoffs were a good deal lighter with much flimsier metal.

 

I don’t know about lowers, but I had their upper control arms on my FJ Cruiser. They seemed solid, I had them for about 60k miles and no problems.

 

It should work. I have a switch for my power to fuel pump. I can shut it off when I'm working on the system or parking in a sketchy area.

Finally ordered the wiring harness from Mario, to install the 2018+ TRD Pro LED headlights.
Originally it said arrival of Sat evening.
But then it sat in Indianapolis USPS for nearly 24 hours before moving. Something else I ordered also sat in Indy USPS distribution center for 24 hours.
Good thing I didn't take my headlights off in anticipation Sat morning, cause I almost did.
First world problems, amiright?

Hit the caps with an old school rub down. I’m thinking about the sunrise red I’ve seen on here for the tow hooks & these toyota symbols. I plan to do a TRD skid plate and it seems to match nicely.

 

I did mine with Duplicolor from AutoZone. Barcelona Red

Thanks. Only reason I am considering the aftermarket option is because the stock design is clearly a design that is going to freeze up again in the future. Just not wanting to have to cut out lower control arms every time I need an alignment. Truck is only 6 years old and the lower control arms need cut out, ridiculous!
