I have a good set of snow chains I carry if I’m ever going on long trips where I might encounter deep or drifting snow, but in the past I have also been able to stay mobile during ice storms too using them, (in that case you want to put them on your front tires but be mindful of clearances with UCA, fenders and other front suspension components, they might not fit with stock offset wheels or bigger tires without rubbing) Some chain types have a v-bar link that really bite into ice. These are not for highway speed or long distances, more or less to get you up and over a mountain pass. Some areas out here it’s required by law to carry snow chains during the winter.

    I got these from https://tirechain.com/
It should show the part numbers in this picture. These are the twisted link style. The tensioners come in pairs so you only need to buy one @$18 I accidentally bought 2 but it doesn’t hurt to have extras. Chains come with the cam lock tool also. IMG_3372.jpg

I have been searching for over an hour now... so I will cheat and ask here...

For those of you who have put Rhino Rack crossbars on your bed, specifically with the Retrax pro cover.... what length bars did you go with? I want to get 65's but everything on the sites are showing I need the 71, which seems like it would be too much overhang.

I am not sold on RR, if you have another low pro example I am all ears. I have tabs opened for the elevate ones.

I don’t know much about the rhino bars or the retrax but these are 66” cross bars and I have a 1/2” overhang either side. I spaced it up 9” because my cover rolls into an external roll above the rails but it is entirely customizable.

I have a Garmin with life-time map/software updates. Works great, is easy to update, and zero cost.

Update: added my vin and they emailed me saying that it was incompatible with my vin. Oh well, sticking with 89785-08040. I’m sure there’s gotta be some solution out there

I, too, have a Garmin Nuvi navigation unit that we use in my wife's car when we travel in that and we use it on my bike when we travel on that. I just recently updated the maps for it. It was easy to do and cost me nothing.

I did just update my maps in my Tundra on a nice recommendation from another member on here. I bought the update card on Amazon. That was really easy to install.

Got the REpainted wheels back on the truck. Ghost Gold pigment powder sprayed over black. The tiny gold flake pops in the sun and is subdued in the shade. Very happy with how they turned out against the blue.

Did you figure out if there's any programming to do for the chipped key?
