From what I can tell most guys go into the “tune session” with an idea of what they want, but Ive also heard that the tuner can flash each one so you can see what you like; or at the least you’ll be able to talk with them before they flash one and decide what a good level would be

That’s slick, thank you for the info! I was thinking about something similar like the DRT bumpers on the tacos, so good to know that cutting the crossmember out is fine

I was thinking blade key from the smart key on 20 & 21 trucks; but the key for 14-19 trucks will absolutely open the door and start the truck with the fob dead, the transponder for the key itself is separate from the “clicker” to unlock and lock the door

Purchased a super clean preowned color matched ARE Z topped today from a local Tundra owner in SC. The install at a local topper dealer went seamlessly. I supplied the brand new triple bulb bed rail seal to keep the bed nice and dry. Overall really happy with the end result.

Not 100% accurate. I can unfortunately confirm the key with integrated fob on a 2018 Platinum will not unlock the doors or start the truck with a dead battery. Can’t speak to other years/models of course.

edit: this is a really dumb security “feature”

Put the seat covers on. Definitely hurts the hands! Not perfect but I think it turned out great and definitely a must with cloth seats. Also put the Ronin stubby antenna on.

The cylinder won’t turn on the exterior door handle? Add some graphite lock lube, or your ignition cylinder was replaced at some point and they never swapped the door cylinder; does it work on the tail gate lock?

That’s weird cause mine is integrated and I took the clicker out of the fob and it still starts the truck just fine, the transponder for the key itself is built into the housing

Cylinder turns. Didn’t try it on the tailgate.

It should lock and unlock the exterior handle just fine without the clicker working, you might have one of those plastic arms broken internally on the door keeping it from unlocking with the key (little plastic retainer like on the tailgate handle)

Check the build link in my signature.
    I’ve not had that experience.
Even tested it explicitly (pulled the battery).
Was able to start it holding the fob directly to the start button too.

I run red led bulbs for the plate to cut down on glare. When I looked at WA rcw 46.37.050 it was OK to run red.

Looks great! Def was hesitant at first with the shell but the kids and dog absolutely love it!
Do you have a pic or link or the seal you supplied?
My ARE CX does leak a little but I know the foam seal needs to be replaced
From what I have learned the Toyota beds have a thin rail along the rear glass compared to other pickups and that is where the water works its way in for me …typically while driving at highway speeds & raining
    TIA

    Thanks!
You bet here you go- I have these seals on two other trucks, installed correctly they work great. The foam seals flatten out after a few months and are worthless.

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DG31WYFL?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1

****Important that the seal is cut for the front base rail corners only in this way. This keeps the seal intact. Just enough of a cut to make a small 45 and allowing the seal to overlap.

Just bought some for mine as well. Went with the blue letters instead of the Red since my truck is Silver. Also found a GREAT price on a sweet battery hold down there for 29.00

I had a drafted response to the above quote, but my response seemed odd, so I just deleted what I wrote and posted "test".

    Didn't help me none. Lol

It didn't come through as a 'quote'...

It looks like you quoted and then deleted some stuff (including one of the required 'brackets' or whatever retains the 'quote' format, so your posted just ended up looing kike a post...

I got one these Disable While in Reverse harnesses a couple of years ago. Works amazing. If you contact @daveeasa, he may still have some left even though he closed the shop.

Skid plate bolt snapped on me and tried drilling out the bolt then extracting it.. extractor snapped on me inside the bolt. Looks like only option is to have someone weld a nut on it?
