Yeah I dont disagree, I like the idea of the vent mount but I hate that the vent can’t be moved or closed after, that’s why I have a rago plate

Shoot, I might go this route and just reinforce the clips before I install it

I swapped out the cheap clear/white clips that it came with for the green ones off Amazonn, they snap in much better, also push in good while tightening the screw clips to lock it in as tight as possible.

this is the eBayy part I used, pretty sure they have it in Silver Sky also.

Excuse my ignorance, but I figured it was the actual base of the bulge that breaks? Essentially the part of bulge that holds the “head” of the clip

The oem clips are a big issue the Amazon ones hold amazing. Tested at high rates of speed and turbulence..

Ohhh so it’s the clips themselves, not the bulge or base of the bulge

I haven't had any issues yet but I might swap these out before something breaks.

I bought a black hood bulge back in early 2020 and had it paint matched SSM. No issues since installing it back then.. :notsure:

Unfortunately I cannot confirm the failure point on these when they break, mine was just 10 y/o faded fake chrome and had to go.

I think multiple failure points but these help keep it all tighter in my mind so they don't lift then break other things. It's just really shitty overall design and should've been molded into the hood lol

The factory clips break and that causes the structure of the bulge to crack and break. The Amazon ones are much better clips and will stay clipped in even when the structure around them snaps. Ask me how I know.

I've had many phone mounts, but this has been the best by far.

I had the Tackform wireless charging phone holder. The last few weeks it has been making a loud ratcheting noise like slipping gears.....they keep chattering after the arms open. Not any more. I ripped it off the ball mount this morning and beat the holy crap out of it and launched it across the parking lot. Now I have to search for a new charging mount LOL.

My buddy has one of those fancy things - the arms open and close when it senses a phone near it or some weird crap

Even with factory matched paint, MGM color looks different on every panel on the front end. I notice it on my truck all the time. Looks like a good match to me!

Sun fade does that - IMO, MGM is the worst when it comes to showing it too
