I've been admiring the work and craftsman ship put into this rig, as well as the $. When we are done what's the purpose? Is it for trail crawling or Baja racing? It is fun watching you spend your money though.

What was the difficulty level and time required for the belt and pulleys? I need to do this.

Did you buy a kit from somewhere or piece it together yourself?

Fun prerunners to play. We do go to Baja often and long quicker paced runs. Since we also have a Baja bug now we can use the tundras to prerun race courses as well.

Probably took 2 hours, taking my time.Difficulty, 2.5 out of 10. Dealing with the fan being in the way is always a PITA.

I bought the Gates belt from O'Riellys and the tensioners from Fred Anderson Asheville.

We'll see the new weight with all the frame reinforcing etc. New rear shocks alone are 60lbs each.

She’s still a work in progress. To be honest, it’ll always be in progress with how these things are. She’s a 96 and needy

The new one hasn't been driven with yet, waiting on rest of the maintenance to be completed.
I did start the engine and it didn't come off. So I got that going for me, which is nice.
The one I removed looked old, but wasn't cracked. I don't have a gauge, not sure how worn it was.

I just had to order one of the upper 921 Extreme bulbs this afternoon because it failed completely...brake and running light was out. What came apart on yours?

I went to replace my tailgate strut and noticed the back on one separated and wouldn’t stay back in.

Traded my 76 40 Series for a 97 40th Anniversary 80 series a few months back. Its my first FZJ, had a 91 FJ80 before that. Definitely like the 4.5 better than the 3FE. Mine is also a work in progress. This weekend was the start of the tranny kickdown cable replacement....not pleasant.

Is that the 921? The back of mine can be rotated slightly to each side.

The fzj is great. If it’s not leaking from somewhere, it’s not running right haha. Welcome back to the club! If you need a trailer hitch, let me know. Mines coming off soon

Yup, 921. I kept it as a spare and glued the backing back on. Just from the residue I saw, I figured it wasn’t supposed to move and the adhesive failed

FINALLY, my Maggy 1900 lift plate, with filters and brake fluid came in...ordered Nov 25! Sheesh! I would have made my own if FA didn't offer their deals...all in all, I'm getting more ready for the smaller pulley and injectors!
