Believe it or not, both mounting bolts are still on the truck.
The only thing that makes sense, is the eyelet on the shock main body broke, swung down and was drug for about six or 7 miles Before the piston finally snapped just above the eyelet. Your guess is as good as mine how the top one snapped bc, to my shame, zero offloading, zero wheeling. They’ve been on for almost 3 years, so I highly doubt they’re under warranty still. Though I still have to check.

    One year warranty, so nope!
Yeah it’s really weird. I’m just glad nothing worse happened. The reservoir looks to be intact, so I should only have to buy a new shock. Lucky, because they don’t make adjustable remote reservoir shocks anymore! Waiting for Accutune to get back to me.

I appreciate it, but I think that money would serve the truck better going towards a transmission cooler kit & other future maintenance. She’s a 2019 with almost 200k:spending:

Same question here. I have not done anything to the suede part yet. Would love to know what people use to protect it.

Went to replace my little 194 corner bulbs & got thwarted by the rain after wasting time screwing with the TSS plug :annoyed:IMG_6608.jpg
I clean suede & Alcantara with Koch chemie pol star diluted 5:1. In a little foamer bottle is best to keep from saturating the area too much. You apply a small amount to a leather brush, work it in, then blot up with a microfiber. It is mainly a foaming cleaner, but it does have a light protectant built in. Less is more, both with the product usage & scrubbing intensity. You can follow up with their conditioner (Leather star) on both the leather & suede surfaces. You can also use DIY Detail interior clean & protect and/or their Interior Ceramic on any surfaces as well, but that is more protection than cleaner.

Mainly to prevent bedsides from spreading if you have weight on them like a bed rack or topper

Yours definitely needed more epoxy than mine. My mounts had hairline fractures so it was easy. Goodluck with your repair. Mine has held up so far!

Someone else might be able to confrim this, as I don't have a 1.5 ton, but I think the amount of lift (reach) you get out of the 1.5 is significantly less than you get from the 3 ton...

Per the HF specs it is actually less than an inch difference for maximum height between the two. I just bought the smaller but it is still in the box so I have not compared the two side by side.

That would be good, as it would give guys an option to carry for trail use since it's about 20lbs lighter. Another plus to the smaller unit, if I remember from when I was researching, is that is has a single speed controlled decent (regardless of how fast or how far you twist the handle when lowering) which is really nice

If you don't mind, once you are able to compare both, just tag me w/a quick Pros and Cons of the two... I had thought about grabbing a small one for trail use cuz the 3 ton is so cumbersome, but I was concerned it wouldn't lift high enough. Thank you and no rush of course!!!!
