What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

Has anyone put a tailgate salt spreader on their Tundras? My sanding guy for the winter quit doing it, and I live rurally where there is no chance I get anything by a commercial guy before 2pm. Part of me hates the idea of doing it to the Tundra, but besides buying another machine or truck for it, there isn't much for options available to me.

 

Have you got a 4-wheeler or side x side that you could use? Several manufacturers make one to fit these UTV's

 

I do have a 4x4 and that might be a better solution, I'd feel better about shooting salt over a 8 year old ATV rather than my truck I want to last forever. Good idea.

 

If you’re open to fabrication, you could get a piece of flat bar from Home Depot, drill it to sandwich between the frame and the front tow hook and then extend it out to clear the front bumper. Take another piece of the flat bar and weld it on at 90° on the edge of the existing flat bar and drill two holes for the license plate and you’re good to go (if it needs support you can take the remaining flat bar and place it vertically at the tow hook to the license plate mount and that should stiffen it up)

if that doesn’t make sense let me know and I can draw it out

I was thinking that sounds like a perfect excuse to buy a small tractor

 

I have one! But its got a blower on the back and a push box on the front. It might be a good excuse to get a skid steer for plowing and the tractor for sanding now though

Might as well do the front dif and transfer case too

Speaking of this, is there a pinned thread by chance, on all the stuff needed to do the rear dif, Front dif and oil change with any other parts needed? I seen one on the 2022-25 thread and it was pinned. Thought that was a great idea.

New bat-tree this week.

My oem hold down was getting corroded so I threw together this temp hold down with ministrut and 1/4" allthread.

Any recommendations for one that doesn't break the bank?
I like the SDHQ but I don't want to spend $100+ on it.

 

I think that looks good as is

 

Never thought about just upgrading it's title to a permanent hold down..
