Appreciate it. I think it looks way better, especially lighter color trucks.

QUOTE="MrJimmyPenguin, post: 4081336, member: 63209"]I finally put the aluminum tailgate hinge bushing, I couldn’t get it pushed in as flush as the product photos it just wouldn’t go past a few mm so the tailgate lines when closed doesn’t exactly line up for perfect gaps between the taillights but I’ll take it. The tailgate actually soft opens so nicely and is a treat to close. Well worth.
    [/QUOTE]

Took a bar and slid the tailgate in all the way, went overboard on the lube for the winter as we have a nice break in snow at the moment and only -8 yay. Anyways fits like a charm, one of those things it just makes my day.

Truck is in the garage for now. I don't plan to have the tape there for more than a week or two, trying to source a used bulge through the marketplace.

For the hood bulge, if you're interested in repairing the one you have instead of buying new, I repaired mine a few months ago.

The little plastic towers that hold the screws were broken, so I used cyanoacrylate glue to get them in position, and slathered the hell out of them with plastic expoxy. Then I replaced the retaining pins with these, that are a smidge bigger than factory:
Amazon.com: Rexka 51pcs Door Trim Panel Retainer Clips for Toyota Tacoma Sienna Cruiser Avalon Corolla Camry Tundra Sequoia Matrix Prius RAV4 Lexus Scion Land 9mm Hole 90467-10188 Tesla -Auto Clips Remover : Automotive

I'm in North Texas, so it does get hot here, plus I take plenty of road trips (at 80 and 90 MPH) and get the same hurricane force wind while crossing paths with semis. It's been since July, and no new problems.

Amazon. It’s the fix for the side dampen tailgate. The factory Toyota part fails quickly as it’s just rubber and this is a metal upgrade so you retain soft open and close assist on the tailgate. One of those once and done forever parts. The other part that fails is the gas strut behind the drivers taillight but mine was fine there for now.

I scooped up one on sale on Amazon “High Flying” it’s just a CarTrimHome, literally the box says CarTrimHome with a High Flying sticker haha, but it came out $300 cheaper than buying directly from them. I’ve not had good luck with any of the products from CarTrimHome it seems cheap garbage from the one I did try so let’s hope this wheel redeems them a little, it does feel great quality so far.

Hate that my battery sweats as much as I do
    20251116_101433.jpg
It ate up my Coupe battery hold down forcing me to use my stock hold down for now. I repainted it and getting ready to buy an Interstate from Costco.

What is the deal with sweating batteries? Is this battery I'm running flawed? I've seen mention of it on here more than once. All the batteries I ran on my Taco never had that issue. How are the Interstate batteries? Are they sweaty?

We sell interstates at work, to be honest I don’t think I’ve seen them leak; the Costco batteries aren’t the same though, I’ve heard they’re a cheaper model than the rest; you could look at getting a sealed lead acid battery

Hmm, I didn't know that. I'm comparing the different batteries from Interstates site and Costco and there are alot more options direct from Interstate.

Yeah, I can’t attest to the durability of the Costco sold interstate, but from what I’ve seen they aren’t the same as the ones straight from interstate

I’ve also heard that interstate stores won’t warranty batteries bought at Costco but YMMV

The recent dip below freezing here in far south Tennessee convinced me to detail out the wife's car and my truck.

So wash , wax and detail done today.

They always seem to drive smoother when freshly waxed.

    None for now
installed my OEM clone power tailgate lock.

    bought the 77$ Amazon one

CONS: 0 instructions, the tailgate/bed plastic gromets that allow the 2 wire to pass vs just 1 is junk (well the hinge is) both broke upon opening them which made installing them into the sheet metal the hardest part of this whole debacle.

Pros: perfect wire adapters / harness, perfect length , pretty much everything was spot on...1 tiny issue is the metal fingeredlock wash that is used to secure the end of the actuator to the OEM plastic lock boss was a bit loose, but a few taps on the convex side on a hard surface & it was snug as a bug on the boss/post

    Sorry no pics :(

I agree, once I figured that out with my 07 that was the 1st thing to go, as soon as I had a chance with my 2018. It was gone. As far as white trucks it not too bad. kind of a 6 or 7!
