What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

Replaced my alternator since my original one decided it was time to go..

 

Installed this cork-sucking ice-hole....passenger side is easy. Driver side, not so much. Dropped a ratchet in the frame rail and took almost an hour to fish it out, but got it out finally. R4T needs to include some backing plate/nut combo w fish wires on for the DS install because anything past a midget hand is too big to fit between the rail and gas tank.



I still need to drill and bolt to the bed, but it was dinner time.

 

What is the purpose of the mod?

 

Removed the cargo carrier and started removing the rack.. decided to sell it all off and go a different route.. we will see how tis turns out.

 

Provides an additional bed support the forward 18" of the bed for 6.5' beds. Lots of us running campers, especially w a cab overhang, have had factory welds crack and beds sag due to the additional weight and leverage. This provides a full width cross piece that is tied to the frame with the bracket you see in the pic.

I finally cleaned my truck after nearly a year. Washed it yesterday, scrubbed and cleaned the crap out of the wheels, and then applied Griots 3 in 1 to the truck. Went back to it today to apply a second coating of Griots 3 in 1. Its been way too damn hot for me to clean it these past few months. Ugh! Eastern WA weather sucks. I miss the Portland summers but not the big city craziness.

 

My tailgate damper is on the way out too. Could you kindly post the part number for it?

 

Sanded sun faded Toyota grill symbol and sprayed new clearcoat. Sanded with 400/600/1000/2000 grit and then 4 light coats of 1K Duplicolor Clear Gloss.

 

Aimed my KC era 1 lights downward so I’m not blinding folks. Then found a 3rd gen at work.

 

Drove it and joined the club.

What are the brass cylinders?

 

They are not sticky anymore! Time we’ll tell how holds up. But compared to $1000 new door panels this is a great solution. It’s shinier than I wished for. But it actually matches the leather seats in the finish. But the dash leather is more matte.

 

Ordered a basket of stuff for the 4R and a couple of things for the truck since today is the last day of the sale and the additional GR code.

Is this at Sparks or somewhere else?

 

Most of us did it with Fred Anderson Toyota, but it will work with all dealerships having the 25% off sale. I did not try Sparks.

 

I need to get to this someday, mine is still in the box from when i bought it last prime day. I’m afraid of screwing up the clock spring. Is there a video in particular that you watched that helped?

 

Anyone get shipping info yet? Just curious how far out we're looking at for orders to arrive.

I placed 2 orders (9/15 and 9/20), but both still show "processing". I fully expect 2 weeks or so given my past experience, but just curious if anyone has seen any movement and when they placed their order.

What are the part numbers for the black out emblems?

 

If you're not installing the heated steering wheel you won't even mess with the clock spring. They're several good YouTube videos on the process.Just remember to disconnect the negative battery lead before beginning work.

 

Check your local dealer(s) next time (price dependent of course). I ordered from nearby dealer on Friday… they dropped it off today (Monday).
