Done came out pretty good. Little nervous that the paint isn’t all the way dry still after 12 hours.

Looks like my LBJs are losing grease. Is it sufficient to try to get a needle grease fitting and add grease or is it time for new LBJs? They have around 40k on them. Dont seem to have any issues otherwise as far as using a pry bar or pushing the tire to check for play.

OEM? So long as there's no excessive play or noise, I wouldn't be uncomfortable continuing to run them. While you could use the method you describe I'm not sure how effective it would be or for how long. How much grease are you talking about? Boots torn?

Yes OEM, sorry forgot to mention that. Can't see any tears on the boots or anything, just seeing some grease on the metal below the boots. It seemed to start when it was really hot a few months back, wondering if the heat made some grease leak out.

    I think I got Josh's last set...

Just installed the 6112s this morning. With the 5160s in the back...I'm quite impressed with the initial drive of about 35 miles. Gonna put a few miles on before the alignment and then decide on whether I need to switch from the current Archive Garage MD pack to the HDs. Current height (top notches) is about 22 1/8" or so...roughtly. A tiny bit higher than the Radflos were set, so I'm assuming these will settle a bit. I am sitting level (drivers/pass) and I'm running #700 springs due to teh bumper, winch, 2nd battery...etc

I will be cleaning up the Radflo 2.5s and selling them. As they have about 40k miles on them, I'd highly suggest I ship them to Radflo for rebuild and then have them shipped to the buyer. Not sure what to ask for them. We'll see. They currently have #700 springs but I also have the standard #550s or whatever they shipped them with originally. Buyer would get both.

Disregard the dirty and crust....but love on the Lexus brakes...lol

Possible. Used to happen on mine on the SPC uppers in the desert and made a constant mess. I switched to Schaeffers and problem solved. Again, no excessive play or noise and I wouldn't worry about it.

Here's what I've been using for a few years now. Even in extended °115 heat it will not thin out. Meets or exceeds spec. We used to use it in extreme duty mining equipment.

    Thanks !
I’ll get some of that paint.
There’s some rust, near the bumper, that could use a similar touch up.
Did you use super white 2, natural white, or white ?

Removing all but the main leaf works well for a spring under suspension, but for a spring over, the measurements will be skewed since “x” amount of height will be lost from the leaves that get removed. It would be accurate if a temporary spacer block of whatever (wood, plastic, metal) that’s the same thickness of the removed leaves was installed for the measurements.

For suspension extension in the rear, it’s pretty amazing just how much more droop the leaf pack has when the all the spring pivot bolts are still loose. I think it’s 2 or 3 inches more than when they’re torqued down to factory spec.

Thank you. I could have sworn I mentioned the rest of the pack thickness, but failed to mention stick a placeholder in there. It's definitely doable spring over, but more math involved.

I remember this when I did my AAL. I feel like I got cheated out of free wheel travel.

Praise be to the Machine God, my vac diagram sticker is still under the hood. Feeling around some of the vac hoses though and they certainly feel a bit… squishy. Probably about time to replace the wider ones for sure.

please ignore the rad hose I put in backward 7 years ago and havent fixed yet, I will be redoing all my coolant and heater lines as well during the timing jobIMG_1839.jpg IMG_1840.jpg

I went to Eastwood and they will mix exactly the color code for your truck. It’s a little spendy but it is an exact match and they ship it to your door.

How much gear you hauling? I haven't off-roaded my Archive MD leafs yet, but will this weekend. I thought about the HD version, but think I'm going to be happy with the MD. They already gave me more lift than the Alcans plus Deaver AALs.

Are you trying to measure compressed or extended?

Edit: I just realized you mentioned Kings. Which Kings do you have?

These should reasonably fit. They meet all criteria, but are 0.038" longer than recommended and only a 2.0 shock. YMMV, but in my book that's close enough.
    Screenshot_20260216_202622_Chrome.jpg

The 2.5's that are 12" travel are all 20.596" compressed, so you'd probably have to modify the AG kit to fit those.

The 2.5's they mentioned that are 10" travel will fit, but might limit your down travel, up to those last two inches.. that is if your current leafs are giving the full 12". I suspect without the hammer hangers most are giving 10".

I wanted the full 12" and 2.5 Kings so I went with these (but with reservoirs) and a custom shock relocation.

You don't have to do it to the T, but that's the correct way of doing it. Unless you can find someone that has the AG setup with the specific shock you're using that can confidently pull measurements for you. It's a lot of work, but it's worth doing it right. And the reward on a rear shock relocation for these trucks is glorious.

I'm going to measure my axle tube to frame tomorrow. I like how Eric uses those measurements vs hub...easier for me to get more accurate.

I have the topper, the drawer system which is 75% full. I'd say with those and the fridge, I'm probably at about #500 in the rear...so right at that sweet spot. Now add gear for when I head out.... I wouldn't mind having the extra bit of height, especially for when I tow the camper.....although bags may be the answer to that. But...I'd rather not run bags. The ass doesn't sag, but the tongue weight is decent due to the trailer design and I don't need the nose up to be blinding people with the damn LED headlights...

I think you'll like the springs. I have them on the AG Hammer Hangers and added the ubolt flip.

Together again at the new place....

That's the same setup I ordered from AG.
I've just got around 500lbs, I'd estimate, with my bumper, spare, and cap. Still plenty room for gear. But I don't tow with this truck. I guess maybe my sliders add some rear weight, but not much. I doubt my skids add any, as they end at the transfercase. Til I get a metal gas tank skid anyways.
So far I'm super happy with it on pavement. The hammer hangers and shock relocation were doing awesome off-road until I bent my Alcan leaf. But those Alcans were a bit of a disappointment from the get go. Not enough lift or capacity.

There is a baby jesus... Last year this happened.

    - Went to an ARE dealer and was gonna drop $4500 on a loaded shell. Dealer was kind of a dick but maybe he was just having a bad day.
    - Went out to get the color code. I come back in and he says they don't make my topper with side Windoors...which is false.
    - Deal breaker for me or maybe a sign from above, so I left
    - Next morning I open FB Marketplace while having coffee and I see this topper.....down to the options and my color code
    - Price was $900. I spit my coffe and reached out. It was an outfitter that ordered it for a customer 2 years ago and dude disappeared. They tried multiple times to reach out and the boss said list it for sale. It was still on the shipping planks from ARE.
    - Shop was outside of Rochester NY...I live in central VA.
    - I'm not a bitch and I'm poor and I love to drive...so road trip the next day it was.
    - Stopped in Buffalo NY to visit Archive Garage and grabbed the leaf packs while I was up there.

No clue how that topper listed miles and miles away showed up on my FB Marketplace main page...but I don't question interventions anymore. For those savings, I'll take a road trip for sure. Unlike you bastards for my rear bumper :)
