Apparently - per the townsfolk - at least half of them are massholes. There's apparently a lot of resentment locally between mainers and massholes. I'm still learning the ropes, but that's my early hot take. A lot of people up there resent the fact that nobody wants to kill DST and/or move forward to Atlantic timezone for fear of the disruption it'll cause between ME and MA, so many people feel ME's economy is inextricably tied to MA. The fact they come and flood the area, cause logjams, and act like they rule the roost seems to be salt in the wound or something.

That's the downtown connector, and it's no better than the rest of ATL..

I am about to turn over all of my Atlanta accounts to someone else, because the dangers associated with traveling in and out of ATL are no longer worth the risk, stress or paychecks.

Always fun moving to a new area and figuring out who the most hated people are. You have it easy though, as everyone hates massholes. No offense @Jack McCarthy  Oregon voted to put an end to time changes 6 years ago, but until congress runs out of other stupid shit to fight over and actually votes on it, nothing will change for us.

I guess that makes sense. New Yorkers probably invade Vermont instead of driving to Maine. I’m surprised there aren’t more Connecticut and Rhode Island people driving up there.

For some reason we’ve become more Massholey if that’s possible. It’s probably from the transplants that moved here. Quite a few from Virginia, Delaware and the surrounding area lately I’ve noticed. Road rage has been at its highest.

Huh. Do those actually work? I’ve been trying to figure out how I’m going to handle parking outdoors effectively in the woods, where I know a ton of mice live. I was going to toss a couple of those peppermint bombs up under my intake and hope for the best.

So far it has but the real test is when/if we get any rain in the future. I have buddies who have tried all different scents but non work that well. I’ve got faith in these. Put the other in the rock crawler, gotta keep the 22re safe.

    Looking good!
The first time I turned on my ditch lights on a forested road I was amazed by how far off they were. One was pretty spot on, the other was lighting up the side of the road more than anything else. Once I get my fogs installed I'm going to go take advantage of a friend's long gravel access road to align everything.

I went down that way in 2016-ish to buy some ammo from a guy (10mm caseless, standard light armor piercing)* and ran into a pretty serious road rager on that beltway. Hispanic male, child on a car seat, and he wanted to get it on. I couldn't believe a man in a minivan with child in tow would act in that way. I don't know what set him off, there were cars on three sides of me and no place to go but he looked at me and came right over into my lane. I had not gestured, honked, flashed my lights, or made any movements towards him at all.

I was having nothing to do with that route again, so after the buy I went home via Dalton, GA, stayed in a motel there, and back home via Chattanooga, TN the next day, which was a much better choice of roads.

*Somebody has to get that reference!

Didn't get a chance today. I need to pick up some hardware to bolt the relays to the chassis. Hopefully get a chance tomorrow.

Retrieved, used, and returned the electric tire pump. All four tires on the Massey Ferguson tractor were flat. Also removed the .38 Special that's been in the passenger rear door pocket since the last time we were down to Crackheadia. I didn't want to be a hypocrite after my debate with Chattanooga Phil. :D

Replaced my manual transmission fluid today.

    Amsoil MT Fluid 75W-90 GL-4

Hardest part was getting the non-OEM gasket off the drain plug. PO clearly hadn't used an OEM washer. I had them ready fortunately. Way overtorqued the drain plug. A little rounded but ok for another drain I think, especially with a new gasket and appropriate torque this time.

First generation Tundra manual transmission fill and drain plug gasket part 90430-18008.

I couldn't find the torque specs easily. Just pulled the FSM for 05-06. Hope it's the same transmission. (There apparently isn't an '04 FSM from what I've read...)

    27 ft-lb for both.

Hopefully Google scraps this and makes it easier for someone else.

Ya you do but you lose that anyway since boards are shaped like rectangles.

I would love modern trucks to be stepsides with the spare tire up on the fender, like my 1972 Chevy.

I installed a Kenwood touch screen in my dad's 07 Tacoma. I made the mistake of letting him pick it out. I should've just bought him a Pioneer, like I've always run in my trucks. Lesson learned.

I feel like I added a couple of years back on after moving out of "the metro". Instead of pure craziness that I spent 1.5hrs - 2hrs a day in (M-F), I'm now met with the slowest drivers on the planet in NW GA. While this is still an adjustment, it's nothing like driving to ATL (and I stayed on the south side)...

Or use the stepsides for storage. Here's a pic from about 1970 of my 1966 special order 1/2-3/4 ton Chevy camper special. Take note it does not squat. Those are 17.5" split-rims.

Get yourself one of these. I have one in every vehicle plus another around the garage. It really works. I've started multiple vehicles for folks with it. Eliminates the chance of damaging your own battery or alt.

I do have a thread on it. You could probably T it off of your existing light bar harness depending on its current rating. It just made such a big difference on mine, I always recommend it to others.

    I miss my '68 C10 stepside. :(

Awesome truck, even with its original 3-on-tree and 235 inline, inadequate little 1bbl Rochester.

I ended up going with this one - it doesn't require pre-charging. Instead, it's more like a giant capacitor: It soaks up residual traces of power from your battery (because they almost never truly die, they always have a few volts left) over a period of 1+ minutes, and when it has a full charge, it has you tap a button, and when you turn the key, it discharges to start the car.

I've helped multiple people with it, one of which only had ~7v reportedly left in her battery after leaving her headlights on in the parking lot for an entire work shift, over 9hrs. It took about 4-5 minutes to fully grab enough charge, but once it did, the vehicle fired right up.

Granted, it costs 4x as much, but ... wouldn't it suck to go to jump your car, only to realize your pack is dead? Hopefully you'd be able to find an electrical outlet nearby to charge the pack up enough, but some of the fishing holes and hiking spots I go to theres no power outlet for tens of miles.

I feel like you forgot to mention what product you're referring to here. It doesn't seem like you're speaking of the one @CC80guy posted since that one requires charging and you mention something about "4 times the price".
