The main benefit for me is exactly what you're dealing with now. Less maintenance. My sway bar links were always making noises and sometimes needing to be tightened. I haven't regretted removing mine yet but I think it helps I'm running fairly stiff ICON suspension.

I’ve dodged and clipped a mattress on the freeway, I tried to dodge but knew I didn’t have a sway bar, so I clipped and ran over a .25 of it because I knew I didn’t have a sway bar.
I do think I ripped my CV boot because no sway bar, but I was turtled pretty high in a slot canyon

Ordered up replacement mounting hardware for my up coming suspension swap. Also finally remembered to order the clips under the windshield cowling that like to leak. Needed to pad the order to get free shipping, so added an OEM key blank and a pair of sway bar bushings. Not too bad.

Ok, so that's not the Hammer Hanger shackle, that's the Total Chaos lowering shackle, but on the Hammer Hangers. I was wondering why yours looked so much taller than mine.

This is a good alternative to the factory brackets and bushings. My brackets we ok but I wanted the black ES bushings so I swapped in the complete set.

Ordered an Alternator. Good deal, $269 with the core charge so will be under $200 when I return the old one. She went bad at the perfect time lol

I was not aware of these at all... Thanks for sharing. The OEM set was $40 each on parts online, $30 with the black Friday sale. So only a few bucks more. But this aftermarket option is good to know.

Over the last couple of days -
-Replaced LBJ's & Bolts (OEM of course)
    -Front rotors and pads (Advics)
-New 265/70/17 MT Baja Boss XL (including the spare)
-Replaced all 5 TPMS sensors (Pacific Industrial brand with 7yr warranty). These list for $63 each, I got them installed and programmed for $30 each and is why I bought them
-Planned an alignment using the numbers on the forum but everything was in spec so I decided to drive it a bit and go back if needed (no cost)

This is an earlier post I made on a different thread -

The specs show the Baja Boss @ 31.9", so only .3" shorter than the 275/70/17 KO2's that were on there. These also come in @ 44lbs vs 57lbs for the 275/70 KO3's.

I've only driven about 75 miles but so far so good. These feel light on their feet and much quieter than the old worn out KO2's. The ride is also a major improvement.

To be fair, the E rated KO2's that came off were over 10 years old...

Quick pic (the truck hasn't had a bath since we moved back in July) -

    MT Tires 01Dec25.jpg

Next big item is a proper lift which won't happen until my house is built and I'm moved in, probably late summer '26

I'm getting antsy for my truck to get out of paint, so I made a grocery catcher to fit into the vertical slots on the sides of the RC bed. I don't know whether the AC has these slots or not, but they're handy for keeping stuff from sliding forward in the bed. I used a scrap 2x8 in my 03RC and thought I could go with something lighter in this truck. I lost my bed measurements and will have to wait until I get my truck back to finalize the length of this contraption.

Saris MTR. Good enough for local riding. Cant really complain for $75. But if you’re asking if I like this style of rack… 100% yes. It’s easy to install and load bike. If I’m going out of town the bike is going inside the softopper.

Today the wife unhooked (and immediately chained up!) the single-axle. We went out minus trailer and finished mowing and weedeating one client's yard plus got a bit done on two other yards that are side-by-side. I hope to come out later in the week and mow those with the zero turn assuming the weather allows it.

I dropped the wife off at the gym where she teaches some classes.

I'm going back after her in a bit and I will endeavor to spray off the truck's underside. This may be the last time we take the Tundra out this year as I really don't want to drive her in the snow (and salt).

That's actually pretty sad as I think she'd do very well in the snow being that she's a 4x4 and riding those aggressive-looking M+S (mud & snow) tires. :(

Supposedly you can refurb the old one for cheap money as a backup. May need a hand impact driver to get the JIS screws off if it’s anything like my old one.

I decided to order some AG Shackleton leaf packs this morning. I was emailing them back and forth and they convinced me to go with my gut and get their HD packs, after I jumped the gun and ordered their MD packs. The rep I spoke with is supposed to switch my order. The Archive Garage 15% off sale ends after tomorrow.

I figure my Alcans were a bit under powered for my needs, post hard topper anyways, even with the Deaver AALs.
@Sirfive once said he thought the main leafs were slightly frowning near the front mounts. That was after I had stored tons of hurricane wood back there for a few months in late 2024, before the AALs.
    20240708_081417.jpg

Apparently it's a common issue with Alcan and Dakar packs second leaf to get hung up on the hammer hangers on Tacomas.
I know I've seen a second gen Taco at Hidden Falls years ago, with a leaf stuck in the Hammer Hangers. The rep assured me the AG packs don't have that issue. I also like the their HD packs have a thicker main leaf. Both MD and HD packs can accept an AAL if need be. So I was originally going to just buy the MD and play with em, since I'll still have the Alcan packs and Deaver AALs as spare parts.

I think me and Casey could make some nice bastard packs with the Alcans, minus the main and second leafs, plus his various OEM Tundra and Tacoma packs, and our combined AALs.
