Driver seat looking real bad. I'm no fatass either, maybe 165lbs at my heaviest, but most of this damage was already underway when I bought it 8 years ago. Naturally it has continued to deteriorate from my own wear and tear.
Imagine the split leather, shedding foam hidden by the repair tape.
    PXL_20251022_185813002.jpg

I've got a replacement foam cushion in the garage but still need to drop some coin on a new leather cover. Here is my next temporary (probably long term) solution until I get the seat bottom replaced. Adhesive backed roll of faux leather.

Pretty funny how a guy forgets all the little things/fixes we do to these trucks. I have no recolection of adding that protective hose around the wire to my OD button.

Katzkin always has good reviews. It is fairly expensive, though.

It is great and provides a lot of privacy, I just want to be able to use more of the land that I have. It's and acre and a half but I'd say 60% of it, or more, is trees/brush.

I distinctly recall @Tundra2 saying it's super easy to flip that specific hose upside down, he did the same shit and nicked his. "It looks like it could go either way". I also recall someone saying they had to trim 1" off theirs to get it out of the serp belt/PS-pulley. Probably b/c theirs was also installed backwards

That's actually a great price, frankly.

That said, if I were you, I'd get a roll of pink or orange vinyl tape, and tape around the base of the trees you'd want to see gone, those which are <12" diameter at breast height ("DBH"). I'm not sure what the arborist rules are in your area, but most places are 10", 12" or 14" DBH don't require a permit. In Fulton, there's a 2" difference for pine trees, I just don't remember, I think pine trees can be 2" larger DBH?

Anyway, by doing that, you could probably get a more accurate quote on removal, and you could be more selective about what you take out, so you're not blindly trusting some dude to blast through with any level of care/concern.

Drop a couple of these blue pills down the radiator neck. It will fix that old floppy hose right up.

Yeah it was a pretty decent price in comparison to a quote I had on the sweetgum tree right next to my house. $2,000.00 just for the one tree. It's still there, hah.

    And that's a good tip.

I hate sweetgums. Trash trees. Those balls are enough to drive you nuts, and just like tulip poplars, they're practically widowmakers with the number of large branches they drop once they get a couple decades old.

They are and very annoying. Trying to rush through the back yard and busting my ass by sliding on 10 of them under my feet is not enjoyable. I had the guy trim the branches on it as far as he was comfortable going.

Yeah so I just got home with the new hose.... gotta werk deez hose, gotta werk deez hose. (DAYCO E72072 $34)
No way I put it on wrong just looking at the replacement. And I just came in from looking at the truck, and 99% sure it's on correctly.
(I will admit if I'm wrong though, grabbing a bite first)
I will see how the new one fits. Trimming, exactly what I was thinking but maybe 1.5" trimmed off the bottom side.

I'll take clearing trees over blackberries any day. Not sure how far you're planning clearing it back, but it doesn't look like the undergrowth is too bad in there.

It's a bit more thick now than it was then. It's also infested with poison ivy and regular ivy. I learned about the poison ivy being back there the hard way......

I cut the ivy back off of the trees every year.

Mine is 1 1/4 inches from the pulley with OEM hose and spring clamps. The tight bend is at the bottom.

That's my go-to now. I have the Tyvek suits on deck. And Technu for the aftermath.

I actually reached out to a company that rents goats out for clearing ivy, but they never called me back. I may still do that......

Lower radiator hose/Power steering pump contact

I had the hose on correct, and I vaguely remember replacing them with "Continental" hoses from RockAuto, yep 11/6/22.
The Continental looks a little short to me, and off on the angles but it had worked fine since I installed itin late 22:notsure:.
I never trimmed it, and it was fully engaged on the rad when I took it off.
Anyway, new DAYCO installed and I've got about 1.5" clearance Clarence at the bottom and 1-1.25 at the top.
DAYCO feels way more stout right now being new, we'll see how that holds up.
Could not get the last 3/4cup of antifreeze back in, damn these things are temperamental with air pockets.
I did however for the first time teeter totter my truck burping it. Drivers rear left the earth momentarily. That felt weird.

I mean, technically, if you just let the boston/english/whatever ivy go nuts, it'll eventually kill the trees and bring 'em down. You could always play the long game

Poison ivy isn’t English ivy. The latter isn’t poisonous. That wouldn’t bode well for Ivy League schools.
