Right now I am running a 305/65/r18 (33.6”) tire and I’m thinking of going up to a 35” tire. I have the Trd off road package that adds a 1.5” lift to the front and a custom bumper that I don’t think will get in the way. Does anyone think I can fit 35’s? I also want to know if your truck feels any slower going from 33 to 35?

99% sure that the TRD Off Road package doesn't give any lift, but I could be wrong since you're in a 2nd gen. That said, your offset will come into play on rubbing as well as your tire width. If you do skinny 35s you might be ok, and then rub with wider ones. You need to provide more complete info on the wheels and tires.

You will absolutely feel the extra weight of bigger tires. You'll also need to get your speedometer calibrated for the larger size, otherwise it will not be accurate and neither will your odometer. 35" tires are usually the starting point of regearing. Something you may want to look into.

Yea I figured I’d have to regear, I think the speedometer will read 4-5mph slower then I’m actually going. My wheels have an 18mm offset, not sure if it will hit the upper control arm. My truck came with a lift in the front to level it. I’m sure it was standard for an sr5 TRD off road package. I just don’t like high lifted trucks unless it’s a smaller Tacoma or jeep, like to keep it more proportional and fill out the wheel well

It won't be off a set amount. It will be off by a percentage equal to the increase in your tires circumference. For example, if you have a stock tire with 600 revolutions per mile that the speedo is set to and you add a tire with 540 revolutions per mile that 10% increase will increase your speed by 10%. At 10 MPH on the speedo you'd be doing 11, but at 70 on the speedo you'd be doing 77. It's a proportional value rather than a static one.

Again, as I don't have a 2nd gen, I could be wrong. I'm 99% sure that if it isn't a TRD PRO there isn't a factory lift. Did you buy your truck new? Can you post a pic of your front coil overs? A spacer or aftermarket shock should be pretty easy to spot.

35's will fit the rear no problem, and should fit your front if my calibrated eyeball is correct. You've got nothing let to rub in front of the front tire. You will be real close to rubbing on the rear of the front tire by the cab mount. May need to do some minor pounding and grinding in that area. Maybe. You're already at basically 34x12R18, so a 35x12.5R18 tire will only be 1/4" closer to the upper control arm. Make sure you have at least an inch of clearance now because 3/4" more space will be stolen by diameter. Your speedo will be off by 4% (says 60mph but really 62.5mph).

Is that speedo correction based of his current 34s going to 35s, or the stock tires the speedo "should" be calibrated to?

Oops. Based off going from 33.6" to 35". No telling how correct it is now. My bad...... I keep this website on my phone as an APP https://www.tacomaworld.com/tirecalc

Granted, this is from a Car and Driver article, but there's no mention of a lift from the factory. My guess is the lift is aftermarket.
