So let’s keep it on a positive note - just because I’m you have a collection of ex wives, debt and OVIs - no need to publicize it.

Seriously - what else does everyone else collect. For me it’s probably borderline “hoard” - Mrs will tell you I am 100 a hoarder - but to me a hoarder saves otherwise worthless junk that no one would want. The things I save have value of some sort.

Let’s see - knives I started with Randall Made Knives - those get pricey of course and while a great looker will occasionally catch my eye - I’ve been buying a few more Buck”s these days as I can use them and not feel bad.

Vinyl - I’ve got a small vinyl collection. Maybe 500 records - probably 350 60s/70s scavenged for pennies and 150 80s/90s collectibles and reissues. Right now just a cheaper turntable - but eyeing a Marantz receiver/table in my future.

Coin op stuff - used to be into it more. Right now just one pinball - but eying a new one - would like to do a music theme to tie the room together. Had jukes in the past - think unless it’s a 70s low end - I’m done, cost a fortune to restore/repair and complex as hell.

Tractors - still a farm boy at heart - keep thinking I want another red belly just to have it.

Dad was the influencer on the knives and tractors. Was something I used to keep his spirits up when they needed it - acquiring stuff and showing him/sharing with him. It’s part of why I still keep so much versus selling it - too many good memories attached. One day someone will get them all - and probably sell without a thought.

    I collect mistakes.
    It’s quite the collection.
I would say, boarder line hoarding.

Once.jpg I met a fellow that loved to collect things. Dogs, cats, tortoises, motorcycles, cars and trucks, guns and the like. This stuff caused him endless grief but he enjoyed every bit of it.
Cutting to the chase ~ I'm the antheses of collector ~ I try to find a good home for things I no longer use and try to not purchase things I do not need.

Here's a quotation from my weld shop instructor from 40 years ago:

"Sometimes it's better to want something you don't have that it is to have something you don't want."

    I live by this motto . . .

If I had to admit to collection myself
I would have to say handtools.
    My Matco & Snap-On accounts prove it…..

I retired from a job in sheet metal fabrication and had several duplicate hand tools and tool boxes.
I called a friend over to have a look ~ he was establishing a second home in Montana.
"Take what you want of these tools ~ they're all duplicates of ones I have in my own tool box."
He took a few things and thanks me every time he uses one of them on the ranch in Montana.
I LOVE finding good homes for things ! :)

Is it collecting if you don’t keep them?
I have collected quite a number of these.
    From all over the place.
However, all have been opened and played with.

Well, my compadre rotated the stock in and out of his collection. The animals didn't live forever and newer machinery supplanted the old ones.

But in the end, he was a bonafide collector at heart . . . God rest his soul.

Take a look at Jay Leno ~ there's a collector for ya !

My father in law is apparently collecting pachinko machines in his retirement.

Growing up I had a friend whose dad was a Naval officer. His dad brought home those pachinko machines and had them hung on the wall in their garage.
We had a ball playing with those machines ~ so much fun ! ;-)

I'm pretty sure that line is from The Matrix, not John Wick.

Old bottles and arrowheads. Oh....vintage Star Wars, T McFarlane full sets of Spawn and sports with rare variants. Comics. Many autographed. Batman Black Knight's signed by Jeff Loeb in front of me. Baseball, football, and basketball cards. Several rare autographs going on there too. I thought I was done but continuing again with my grandson. It never ends..........

Nuthing. There are a select number of things I have “a few” of, but nothing would be considered a collection. For whatever reason I get no joy in that kind of thing. Think my clutter meter is too sensitive.

Kuul. I played at many Pachinko parlors in Japan during my almost 5 years there. Our base cal lab had a civilian tech rep. Norm. Retired AF. He'd pick up retired/broke Pachinko machines put out back of the Pachinko parlors and we would help him refurbish them. All you needed after that was to buy a bag of Pachinko balls to play. His garage was full of refurbed Pachinko's and had a Refer full of cheap base Budweiser's. Fun times. MCAS Iwakuni. The Pachinko parlors were only supposed to pay out with stupid prizes but you could trade your left over "balls" for cigs or booze out back. Most Pachinko parlors were Yakuza "financed" back then........just sayin...

    Scars. Both physical and mental.

    Beer Coozies.

    Star Wars things.

T-shirts from races I've been to.

    Nightmares.

    Dust.

Memories of idiots who can't drive for shit.

Gray hair. That collection is growing faster than I want it to.

Matchbox or Hot Wheels trucks. I have about 200 of them. It started as a joke; every time my wife bought a Starbucks coffee I would buy a truck. 200 or so coffees later she has nothing to show; I have a tool box with drawers full of trucks. :D

I also have a collection of knives. The story with them is that, except for a few, I never buy a knife just because I like it; there is a story with each one of them. Some are reminders of family vacations, some when friends or family passed away, kids' graduations etc....
I don't have a current pic, but this is from a few years ago.

Pomeranians. Have 6 1/2 (one is 1/2 Pekingese). Our black one isn't in this picture, but the white one was an Eskimo. We lost him early this year. So I went from 8 to 7.
