Well, let’s see how long it stays

Random post.
Dropped a dime and it landed on my running board. I forgot to grab it as I was in a hurry. Just realized today, it’s made it a week. So, I’m gonna see how long it holds on.
A few years ago, for whatever reason my brain thought it was a good idea to put my keys and wallet on the bumper while loading the truck. I made it home twice from Costco with the wallet still there.

 

I'd say 3 weeks before someone else picks it up and takes it...

 

Ha! One trip down to Sacramento and she gone!

 

It would all happen very differently if it was something you actually cared about.

That's been my experience, anyway.

Ain’t that the truth. Lost a nice bike once. Rode to a bank to meet the meet the seller of my first tundra. Got so excited when the deal was done, I got in and left. Totally forgot about the bike. It wasn’t there when I returned. My absent mindedness bites me in the ass frequently.

 

Do you drive slow? I'll put a dime on my board and see if it lasts to the first stop. It won't.

Yeah, got a buddy of mine, left his drink on bumper and made it across town and all the way home with it still there. If I was driving, it would be gone in the first 12 feet.

 

That is some funny shit, but we all do these things...I left two bags of groceries under the bench at the train station. Live and Learn

 

I got left at the bank once when I was a kid.

 

Rescue that dime. It’s seen some pretty epic stuff, for a dime.

 

Day 8:
Frankie D survived the 15 mile commute to work on I80 at 70+mph.

 

Day 10. Made it home from work and morning errands.
Still there.

 

You obviously don't live anywhere near D.C.

 

I hope I don't drive behind you! My bad luck is more powerful than physics, and I'd be the one that catches that dime in the radiator or windshield doing 75 MPH.

 

I don't know if a dime would last that long on my truck, but I did drop my key fob right in between the cab, and the bed once. It was pitch black out when it fell, and even with a flashlight I couldn't see where it was. Drove 40 miles to work on the interstate, and 40 miles back - easily hitting 80+ multiple times. I was sure it was gone. When I got home my wife took a look, and was able to grab it right off the top of the gas tank.

 

Yeah but now you'll have .10 towards a new windshield. It's like a forum discount or something.
